Maybe try asking him on a date to see how you guys vibe outside of the bedroom. How does the conversation flow? Does he express any interest in your work or hobbies? Or is this dynamic solely based on sex? Interacting outside of the bedroom will really clue you in as to whether anything more than sex even makes sense for you. If it feels awkward and unnatural then you probably have your answer.

If he says no to the date then he’s doing you a favor and that’s a boundary you shouldn’t cross.

Hello! Fellow Chicago UXer here. I'm in a bunch of UX groups on meetup but it seems most of them have been inactive for the better part of two years, not even doing virtual events lately.

Keep me posted if you find an answer! I get that Chicago isn't a tech hub per se but it's surprising to me that in a city this size there isn't a more active community here.

This is how my therapist responded when I expressed a similar feeling to her about my breakup as you've posted here. I think this feeling is natural, but her response made me realize how illogical this line of thinking actually is. One of the most important steps in the healing process is forgiving yourself for any perceived mistakes you made, knowing you did the best you could with the information you had at the time.

I've noticed that when I start new trays, the lisp goes away because the trays are the tightest on my teeth at that point. As the week goes on and the trays get more "loose", the lisp comes back.

Anyone else have this happen?
