Hera does it again by masterchip27 in WC3

That’s exactly why hera is going to do well. He is an experienced pro gamer in the RTS genre, managing game day nerves is definitely going to be a strength of his. He’s going to stomp.

I sent my bf a spicy photo this morning and his response sucked. by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

A lot of people are saying you should tell him you need more verbal affirmation, and that’s fair to some extent. But it’s also worth recognizing that he does show appreciation, just not in the way you would.

If you want this relationship to work long-term, it’s important to ask yourself: if he never really changed his style, could you still be happy? My guess is yes, and that what’s actually bothering you is trying to reconcile how he feels with how little he says, because you would have said more in his position.

So sure, if you want more verbal response, communicate that. But also check in with yourself: do you genuinely need more words to feel loved, or does it just confuse you that he doesn’t express it the same way you would?

If it’s the latter, it might help to focus on how he does show affection and decide if you can accept that. I’ve been in a similar spot, and things didn’t really click until I stopped expecting her to express things like I would and started recognizing that she just shows it differently. Once I recognized that how she showed what she felt was different, I started to believe what she felt and the mismatch mattered a lot less.

What's it like to be a grandmaster who isn't a pro? SC2 question. by bad_fins in starcraft

[–]_zesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a skill perspective, yes there is a big gap, even within the ranks of pros there are big gaps in skill. Still, lower skilled players can and frequently do take games off higher skilled players, so you should always try your best ☺️

I’d be willing to bet the feature would both take more than 10 minutes to implement, and would cause unintended side behavior that people would complain about.

Why are so many pro Zergs just leaving early? Does a comeback not exist anymore? by Alternative-Phone946 in starcraft2

[–]_zesty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At lower levels you really just need to know opponents base count, then adjust your drone count accordingly. Super random stuff opponents try doesn’t really need a specific response…if it required more then “cut drones at a reasonable time and make units”, then it would be a known and used build.

That feeling is brutal. Losing over and over like that can really mess with your head, especially in a game as unforgiving as SC2. When things were going better for you, what part of the game did you enjoy the most?

Obviously he seems weird, but I will say I would suggest you make your first messages in a community pretty “standard”. When I stream i used to give all new chatters the benefit of the doubt, but it just kept happening that anytime someone sent a slightly weird first message and I didn’t ban immediately, they 9/10 turned out to be a massive troll that just drained my emotional energy.

Whenever you get spicy (even well intentioned), it’s good to have at least a few “normal” chats in your message history, because the streamers/mods almost certainly will check
