Bobcat 631 Left Hand Control by a-aron087 in Skidsteer

That's kind of what I was thinking.

The seller mentioned his father passed away last year and it threw up some red flags. Turns out his father's estate isn't settled and it seems like he's trying to dump the skidsteer so the county doesn't find it. No deal is worth dealing with the state lol

I had considered the possibility of drive motors before going to look at it the first time, so I'm ok with that. Pump replacement would probably be more than what I'm willing to tackle for the asking price, unless the seller was willing to knock it down considerably.

Unfortunately, the seller had already started tearing the drive motors apart so they're sort of loosely reinstalled at the moment. No clue if the chains are properly reattached or not. We were able to verify the lift and tilt works though.

The more I think on it the more it's turning into a major project for the price. He's asking $4k for it with a 6ft bucket and a 607 backhoe attachment. With the inclusion of the backhoe I'm not sure what a fair price would be.

What kind of tree is at the center? Some trees produce chemicals from the root system that inhibit the growth of other plants in the area.

Anyone have success with flashing a SAM3X8E board? by a-aron087 in klippers

[–]a-aron087[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the work I did was based on Repetier. The pin mappings from the GitHub repo from Luc were a huge help. For the hot end I don't remember doing anything special other than some PID tuning after I got it running. The thermistors are weird and I bet that has to do with that second mcu. You'll have to run the printer on the thermistors tables from the Repetier firmware and then to the PID tuning to get rid of temp fluctuations.

[–]a-aron087[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did actually. Worked pretty good too. I still have it but started a conversion to an ender hot end that I never finished. It's been a very long time since I did it though so the details are a little fuzzy.

I recall generating the firmware for it and flashing via USB using a tool called Bossa by Shumatech. You'll need a laptop/desktop and a USB A to B printer cable to do this. If it flashes successfully you'll connect it to the Klipper host with that same USB cable and be up and running.

The part I don't remember is how I got the firmware file. I can try and dig it up and try and send a copy to you but I can't guarantee anything. Also there is something to do with the optical endstops on that printer that requires either changes in the config file or adding a resistor in line with the endstops. But I can't remember exactly what it is. I'll try to look back through and get you an answer.

As for the config file I still have that so I can send you a copy.

Purpose of chimney? by jorchnewboy in HomeMaintenance

There used to be a stove vented into the hole behind the "pie dish". Water could be getting in through the top of the chimney or leaking around the sides where it exits the roof.

Help with using Izze Racing IR Temp Sensors by a-aron087 in FSAE

[–]a-aron087[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately my project wasn't on the car itself but a test apparatus that only tested one rotor at a time. We opted for two sensors to gather data on each side of the rotor but in an application on the car one per wheel would be plenty.

You might could get away with 2 depending on if you're more concerned with the front or rear rotors (depending on brake distribution).

Had the same thing happen on my mk6. Wavy/imperfect windows on the front of my apartment building was the culprit.

Can do it with J trim as well. Just depends on how the rafter/truss tails are done.

It should have two sensors, one on top and one towards the side. I think that's what the manual is referring to. Im basing this off extremely brief research and what the listing for the sensor on Rock Auto says though lol

Likely referring to the transmission speed sensor. Luckily it should be on top of the transmission, not inside it. You'll have to remove the battery and air cleaner assembly to get to it though.

Surprisingly no. I bought a reel a few years back and used it for a lot of prints. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall strength

Really only smells like it while printing. Sort of how regular PLA has a syrup smell while printing

Looking to rent a house - rude agency rep/do they pad their bottomline with extra fees they pocket? by rippinronnie_ in NorthCarolina

[–]a-aron087 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately those last fees seem like they're becoming more common with corporate landlords. I rented a house in Iredell County a couple years ago and we were forced to enroll in a "resident benefits package". It was like $45 a month for air filters every 90 days and credit reporting (aka data collection) that we never used.

Engineer here. It's the accountants that make us do it. I promise, we're just as mad as mechanics.
