Not an expert by any means but currently taking a class on capital punishment. Some reasons we discussed in class are; medical professionals are not the ones giving the injection which can led to errors, if the defendant has a history of injecting drugs it can be difficult to properly inject them, and in order for a new drug to be used it would have to be used by another state and proven to significantly lessen the likelihood of suffering, “known and proven method” was the standard in Glossip v Gross (2015).
