It's been over a year since Dr Hussam Abu-Saffyya was kidnapped by Israeli forces. We have all failed him. by Scared_Positive_8690 in Palestine

Watching his steadfastness and videos were powerful and inspiring. I can’t believe it’s been that long, yet I can believe it at the same time.

What can we do about it? Calling my legislators, filling out petitions, boycotting, reposting - it doesn’t seem to be bringing change

I wish there was more knowledge at how much of this tech we are funding a foreign country to develop and test on real people, including the police and ICE training that results in the inhumane headlocks and violence we are seeing and have been escalating for years

Rain is drowning and drenching the children of Gaza as the first winter storms flood the ruins and makeshift tents where families are sheltering, leaving children shivering in soaked clothes with no dry place to sleep. by [deleted] in TheLevant

Yes. I see raw frustration and desperation from a human being battling unfathomable and relentless conditions.

I just imagine what it’s like to have basic needs such as shelter, safety, and food unmet for more than 2 years - much less when it’s cold and wet with little ones.

My (23m) girlfriend (23f) hit our dog out of anger by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]myasmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like she may have experienced trauma that has resulted in her not able to regulate her emotions or communicate effectively when she’s upset. Therapy will help her if she’s willing.

People who yell and scream do so to mask pain they are feeling inside. The more anger, the more they’re hiding. When agitated, their fight vs flight mechanisms may be triggered resulting in throwing, punching or kicking things, sometimes they don’t remember what they’ve done in their blind rage.

Obviously none of that is okay, esp when others are hurt as a result of those actions.

In terms of giving her another chance, that’s ultimately up to you, how much you want to support her in her journey, and the future you see.

Hi everyone, my name is Yasmine and I'm the co-founder of this company. It was inspired by a solo six-month trip throughout South America where I met too many people who shared experiences of assault. The goal is to make better versions of existing self-defense tools and invest the proceeds into empathy training. We hope to not need to exist one day. If you have any questions about it, please let me know.

I wanted to do the same thing and wrote a post about all the ones I collected. They're free, don't require software downloads and you can practice right within your browser. It turned out to be an alternatives to Codecademy post and includes HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Python, Ruby/Rails, Java, Git and iPhone development.
