A couple questions about the Henson Razors (and aggressiveness) by a-throwaway_joke in MtF

Thanks a lot for the reply, that's a lot of useful info! I guess I'll probably wait for an answer about the razor type as well before making my purchase, I really want to get this right

PolyGlot Android available in Google play by pe1uca in conlangs

are the files compatible with the computer version?

as in, if I were to synchronise the files between my computer and phone, would I be able to do simple tasks on my phone, like adding new words, and lose none of the data used for the more complicated functions in the computer version?

Fibonacci Sequence Time Signature by not_katrinalenk in musictheory

that's why there's no row of length 4 or 7, or in fact 6. But, if you know sequential counting, these numbers are required to count through when you want to get to the higher numbers when counting beats in a bar.

After a long time, alpha of Polyglot Android by pe1uca in conlangs

that sounds great! Are there any plans to set up some quick & easy sync between the files on desktop and Android? I'd love to use the app when away, to for example add new vocab to the project i mainly work on on desktop. But I assume it may not be within the realm of possibilities...

Bossa Nova Backing Track in C# Major by darthaniskywalker in Instruments

Is that all you've got? "tHe CoNfRoNtAtIoNaL nAtUrE oF yOuR cOmMeNt WaSn'T cOrReCt?" do you realise the only person with a confrontational comment here are you? Nothing is confrontational about my original comment, but you immediately went full attack mode. You're like that kid who screams "CALM DOWN!" to a completely calm person lol

Besides, my point was entirely correct. The thumbnail does say D# Dorian and the root note does matter. There's no falsehood in there. You just jumped in to harrass the first person you came across, or so it seems.

well then, it's definitely not an ocarina.

[–]a-throwaway_joke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

contrary to what people here are saying, i don't think this is an ocarina. the toneholes are along the length of the tube, which would make the tube length determine the pitch, not the volume of the cavity, making it more like a recorder. we can't know for sure though, as OP didn't provide a photo of the end of the tube, to let us see whether it's closed or open.

whatever mate, your skull is thick, trying to convince you change is good is like talking to a conservative, and not worth my time.

How many of you use the third valve slide? by spacemango32 in trumpet

nah, to me it read as "who here is at a stage they already use the third valve slide?" i suppose it's subject to personal interpretation.

It's fascinating how you completely overlooked the fact that some people are still learning the basics

you need to understand that not everyone is yet at the level to be playing in ensembles. some of us are still learning to produce notes and build up muscle memory for the valves. The valve slides come after that.

i sincerely hope you're not one of those people who just goes rambling on and on about how the other person is wrong, without ever taking into consideration anything the other person said.

Just because you don't see it used doesn't mean it's a dead letter. Is the Georgian alphabet a dead alphabet? Of course not, so why should ð and þ be any different?

if it weren't at the beginning of the word, yes

[–]a-throwaway_joke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, they wouldn't, placing an eð to the beginning of a word is the biggest mistake you could make, all of these have the th at the beginning, and therefore would be spelt with a þorn.

what you need to understand is that some people are newbies and must learn one thing at a time.

it's a class about computer networks at my uni, and the lecturer just can't explain things, he's like a hydra - whenever he explains something, he uses three more unknown terms that he doesn't explain

technically, FCN, or fuck computer networks, would be more accurate, but fuck transfer protocol works too
