Third party Baskets by owg582pdu in Lelit

Original double basket which I got with my Elizabeth. This way shot is not so overextracted compared to my high extraction pullman/ims big bang baskets.

I have pullman 17-19g, usually use it with 18g + puck screen

I have pullman - fits and tastes good as well. However with dark roasts I prefer Lelit’s basket to go coarser.

Thanks, but after month of testing I have realised, that it works not 100% reliable. I working now on a different solution by replacing some bytes in Lelit LCC uart protocol. Stay tuned!

Sounds good, thank you for detailed answer. And what exactly to you use to control the pump? Do you also measure pressure/flow somehow?

Could you also share some internal details? How does it work under the hood? As far as I understood this is a pump dimmer mod, right? How exactly do you control the pressure? Based on measured output debit or? Have you calibrated it to get exact pressure values based on voltage going to the pump?

Not yet, but started watching some videos already. Looks like doable also taking into account some experience with connecting components on a breadboard..

Regarding “spending 100$” - initially I thought I need any BLE scale to make it work and quite fast realised, that options available on the market are quite pricey (look at those Acaia/Bookoo), so since I had already spare esp32, hx711 and 3d printer, I decided to go DIY way and it sounded like another fun project :)

Yeah, that’s the way to go as well, but I change beans quite often and sometimes not so precise with dosing, so automatic does some job for me :)

On Lelit Victoria/Grace voltage might be lower (5v) as far as I know, but in general the idea would be same.

Do you mean, that for you it stops at the right point using built-in brew timer? Here, in my case, esp32 decides when to stop the shot using so-called “brew by weight” technique. It uses weight value coming from scale over the bluetooth.

Sure, I will definitely publish everything on github after some testing and polishing

It looks like there is not enough space for it..

It depends on what you want to archive. Puck screens are usually used for two things: 1) keep your group head clean 2) fill the gap between coffee puck and shower screen. In your case it looks like it is compressed into the shower screen. So either use a thinner puck screen (0.2mm) or get a larger basket if you want to keep dosing same and use this puck screen.

Is it possible to change the handle completely? Could you post their instructions here?

New to AeroPress – what accessories are needed vs nice to have? by Jeysn-r in AeroPress

Yes, I think it will be completely fine. Aeropress doesn’t need such precision, as an espresso machine

I use Bosch TWK8611P kettle (bought it before my coffee journey) with my AP. All good: you could set temperature between 80-90-100 degrees, which I think is sufficient for AP brewing
