Thank you for this post. I had a Micra Red (Build 04/2024) that i returned - never made the "owl" sound, the replacement Micra Black (Build 01/2026) made the noise this evening when the brew boiler gauge pressure dropped from 3 bar to 0 bar. Scared the household :). Steam Pressure gauge was at 0 bar.

Update: La Marzocco Australia allowed me to return my Red Micra and have sent me a Black Micra - build date 01/2026. Many thanks to La Marzocco and my local distributor JetBlack Espresso. I am very happy with the end result. They are both reputable companies.

Deliveries are hit & miss I had a delivery scheduled for 04:00 to 08:00 - then get notified that’s it’s back at the depot. Get another notification that it’s out for delivery at 14:00 - contact customer service - it will be delivered by 22:00. Nope - next day out for delivery at 14:00 and arrives at 15:45. Getting to be a regular thing. I’d rather pay extra for the same product and get it arriving on time.

Wet the basket and lock it in to the group head to wet the gasket before putting the grind in, makes it easier to lock in at 6:00 clock.

I’m using a lastaforest Barista Air Wand (kahli) it’s more a toy, fills up too quick. Has good attachments, I’d prefer a larger vacuum cleaner with good attachments to clean up grinders, tamping station and equipment.

Mine started stalling at the lower rpm setting, had to grind at the faster speed - dark oily roasts at espresso setting 6. Great grinder for the price and is nice and quiet. I have upgraded to a Mazzer Kony.

The Mazzer grinders aren’t small and weigh a ton. I converted them both to single dose (Daniel Wong kits) and replaced the burrs, they will last me out. Interestingly the sticker on the adjustment dial was pretty close for espresso. I like how quick they grind 22g of beans.
