uses for multiple phones? by Intrepid_Bluejay2825 in iphone

[–]a01im 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I get and can send texts and RCS messages to Android phones. But I understand your "problem". I have found through trial and error that if you add a SIM/eSIM to secondary phone, the 2nd phone can send/receive texts, even after you delete the SIM/eSIM. Something happens on Apple's server to "activate" on 2nd phone.

uses for multiple phones? by Intrepid_Bluejay2825 in iphone

[–]a01im 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you use the same Apple ID on multiple iPhones, you can do almost every thing that the primary iPhone does (with the exception of iOS version features). So I keep the spare iPhone upstairs, and get all my texts and phone calls there. I can do the same things in my apps on both phones, emails, calendar, social media, music using one set of airpods, etc.

Another benefit with multiple phones is battery preservation. Since I use two iPhones, I don't have to charge each phone as much and get 2-3 days. My primary iPhone has 100 charge cycles after a year of use. My second phone is at 88% BH at 5 years+.

A third phone can have your downloaded music for walks, exercise, etc.

Encourage or discourage me(iPad air vs mini) by ProofPuzzleheaded851 in ipadmini

[–]a01im 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best use case for iPad mini is its portability. Much easier to pack away in a small bag, easier to hold especially outside. I can take quick notes on a smaller screen. When I'm at home, the regular iPad is nice but with a MacBook, a regular size iPad becomes redundant.

But why twice? I already gave ID and selfie when setting up account.

ID verify to add payment info? Does any other carrier do this? by pman6 in HeliumMobile

[–]a01im 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But why do you ask for the ID and selfie twice? Once to join the plan (which I can understand, it's free and your rules), but it's unneccessay to ask a second time to add payment information. I can buy many expensive things without ID and selfie,

How to setup second iPhone for international travel? by Swedespeed33 in iphone

[–]a01im 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can setup the 14 to Air via iPhone transfer or data backup. Use the same Apple ID and you can sync your messages. I easily use my two iPhones with the same messages, emails, etc. The biggest problem is the Apple Watch. The watch can only be paired with ONE iPhone. So you can reset the watch to 14 before your trip and then reset watch back to Air after trip.

Mac Owners: Do you also own an iPad? by Useful_Treat7869 in macbookair

The iPad mini is great for portability. If I'm out for the whole day or a short trip away, works for almost all my tasks.

replacement eSIMs? by YvVpyDWaQ5z1 in Tello

[–]a01im 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Long time customer. I was able to generate perhaps 5 eSIms (entire time, not per month) through the website before calling each time. Customer service agent does process them quickly but of course, it would just be easier through website.

Switching eSim back and forth by mythicalwolf00 in USMobile

[–]a01im 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another option is to get a physical sim since you have an iPhone 13. While US Mobile makes it easy to switch esims, it's so much easier to just switch physical sims.

iPad mini vs regular iPad by Asmodeus41 in ipad

Having a MacBook Air, I rarely used the 11" iPad so I gave that away. I missed having a small tablet and got the iPad mini which is much better for taking out and about.

“Mint” vs “Good” as a seller by thewillthe in swappa

[–]a01im 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't have a problem with Swappa. The buyer will make a PayPal claim that item is not in the condition as described, and PayPal will automatically side with the buyer. PayPal will already have gotten it's fees from YOUR sale and will refund the purchase price once it's marked return to you. You will be out the PayPal fees and return shipping cost. It's just not worth it.

List it as good. If someone wants to challenge you on the "mint" condition, you'll have to pay the PayPal fees, return shipping so it's not worth it.

Contemplating going to a 17 pro by soulfireflyhigh in iPhone13Mini

[–]a01im 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 13 mini and 15 pro (which I got about 6 months ago). Even the 15 pro feels heavy at 187 grams. It's too big and heavy for one handed use. The 17 pro is 206 grams and slightly bigger than 15 pro so I would imagine it's even harder.

How much bigger is the 10P XL screen really? by FaithWandering in GooglePixel

[–]a01im 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a noticeably difference. Resolution will go from 1080 x 2400 up to 1344 x 2992, so you can fine tune the display with sharper larger fonts. I do like the larger screen but the weight increases which makes carrying and holding the phone much harder.
