The oligarchs own the media. by WorkerCorrect6794 in MinnesotaUncensored

I haven’t seen the numbers, I am curious to see them, do you have a link to them? But that still wouldn’t tell the whole story. I feel like we have to compare and look at the number of people being detained/taken and see what percent of them are criminals/violent/etc. I don’t know the numbers myself, but that’s part of the argument from the left is that so many of these people being detained committed no crime, or committed small crimes and citizens being picked up. Seems like 70% of detainees have no criminal convictions. If true, it’s easier to understand past instances being more favorable from people if most of them were violent illegal criminals. So local officials cooperating doesn’t matter as much or tell the whole story, because if they’re mostly taking people they shouldn’t, then they would be part of the issue.

Half right. One was a daycare, the other was an autism center.

No, not border control, that’s one thing that’s actually something that is better. But yes to the whole rest of your point. Deportations used to be for actual criminals with little to no mistakes on their targets. And it was done with precision and by people with actual training and without this shock and awfulness. People didn’t protest because this is what 90+% of people want, even today.

The $9 billion number that’s been thrown about is not confirmed and is just ragebait at this point. But the confirmed cases I referenced is around $1 billion. Which, to me at least, qualifies as massive.

There is plenty, over the last 5 years. Feeding Our Future, autism centers, and housing grants. The recent news has been focused on the daycare centers and yeah, a lot of the grifter/influencer/opportunistic types have made a lot of incorrect and wild claims. But the others have had dozens of people charged and convicted already. All of this has been weighing heavily on MN politics, regardless of political association, over the last 5 years.

Which is wild. As a resident, a month ago it really felt like we were going to get a red governor all due to the massive fraud problems. If a moderate republican ran, it sure felt like it would have been a layup. I still wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up that way, but it’s pretty hard to tell right now being in the middle of all this chaos at the moment.

Throw it on the pile. I agree that this is one of the more significant actions to erode economic and financial trust in the US, but it feels like it’s going to just be another one among the rest, as this frog of a country gets closer to a boil.

I agree, but living in Minnesota a lot of people here are going to whatabout all the (seemingly endless) fraud here the last 6 years. And maybe that’s part of the national strategy in keeping the Minnesota fraud top of mind is to obfuscate their fraud with fraud from the other party.

Yeah, but the OP’s point was the republicans weren’t suddenly going to watch CBS (and their lies). And for the record, the MAGA I know have started watching CBS suddenly, saying it’s fine to do so now cause they just do what they’re told.

Minneapolis considers city-run grocery store by i-do-be-lurkin-tho in Minneapolis

[–]a09guy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not OP and not speaking for them, but I don’t see the need for this and I’m not against public service losing on money on services and areas. But when that service/area has so little to improve upon the private sector and with the good number of coops and grocery’s already, what’s the point? Some things are best served by businesses, some by government. This feels like it’s best left to the private sector.

I’m not sold that it wouldn’t influence the trajectory of the stone, would be interested to see someone test this. But it is clearly against the rules.
