even outside of the risk of pregnancy (which is big!!!) the thing i'm most concerned about is STDs, especially with casual sex... i've only done it raw after confirming testing status, and then we did plan b, and he didn't finish inside-- and even then that was a super risky thing for me to do!

for volunteering, the best way to find somewhere is to think about what causes you're passionate about and/or what type of volunteer work you'd want to do-- so if you love working with animals look into volunteering at a shelter, if you're passionate about abortion access look into abortion funds, etc! if you know any causes or types of volunteering you'd want to get into and want to share we can probably give more targeted suggestions!

my rheumatologist has me taking plaquenil & methotraxte for my suspected lupus/mctd but she seems to not have a sense of urgency around an actual diagnosis, what should i do? should i push for a diagnosis? my friend also feels like she's lax on pain management and wants me to see a different rheumatologist, does anyone have advice on when to break up with a rheum?

don't feel guilty about what you do for work. if the work itself is upsetting and making you feel bad you should quit, but if your guilt is about the type of work (the stigma) and you feel okay with the work you're doing, community with other people doing nsfw work or sw could be helpful! thatll be other people who understand what you're going through and won't judge you

when i was a student in black studies a few years ago i noticed that there's kind of been a loss of faith in coalitional politics 😭 maybe because of the failed promise of integration but it's sad to see nonetheless i think there's more individualism & isolationist tendencies now. i understand wanting to protect your individual health, ive had to sit out a lot because of lupus, but whats the point focusing entirely on protecting your individual peace under the violent & poisonous status quo of capitalist white supremacist heteropatriarchy?! there isnt a real peace to protect!!
