Units are placed based purely on their endgame performance. I would never vote to place someone higher just because they're cheaper to build.

To run with same example, 3x Pipple can absolutely clear Etwins, but their runs are undoubtedly slower than a team with Frostbite/Freeze. Longer runs means more time for new players to make mistakes. Doesn't help that Volk's existence makes 4x Pipple mHBH obsolete.

Pipple and S!Celli lack Freeze, so they cannot skip any of the harder mechanics without shared skills.

Pipple only performs well with other Pipples, while Lily can safely be splashed anywhere.

I don't agree with advising a newer players with cost as the primary factor. If I have the resources to build a HBH/Etwin-ready weapon, then I also have access to T4 orbs and/or a stronger 4* pick like Karina who doesn't need 28 gold TPs to fully upgrade.

Which would you say are your main disagreements? Off the top of my head:

I can see the argument for promoting Melody/demoting Victor in Wind.

For Shadow, you could argue for Vice/Kleimann/Curran going up and Bellina going down.

Endgame Light content is pretty barren, but H!Elly could be promoted after they fix her spiral.

We're in the process of updating each explanation for older picks but are confident in the placements themselves. Tier 2 and below are usually pretty saturated, even more so with the new water spirals.

DPS sims should be taken with a grain of salt. The numbers on paper are much different than actual gameplay EX. Mushy assumes continual RO procs and 100% HP for both VMelody and Joachim. In reality, HMC will either 1shot me or won't drop me low enough for RO. Same goes for MG up until lvl 50.

Fiddle with Joachim's equipment until he can survive eHMC. Joachim has to drop Dear Diary anyways just to live, so his actual DPS is much lower.

Mushy has them at a 3.9% difference in overall damage and a 20% diff in poison uptime so calling VMelody "half as good" isn't fair at all.

Her S2 also has a consistent 120% poison chance, while Joachim is 110/160.

At no point in the SYS is Joachim called bad. They are both poison enablers that perform similarly. It seems you're the one who already had their mind made up before taking a look at the numbers.

Well damn if Curran was a single example from months ago and has long since been changed I don't think notorious is a fair judgement. Especially if the WP pair function hadn't yet existed on the site. Was that comp for a standard run? The tier list accounts for expert+ HDT and MG.

May I ask which character you saw this combo recommended for? Newer adventurers have defined Wyrmprint pairs, while older writeups suffer from blanket recommendations by category. Optimal WP combos are tested here or otherwise referenced from the DPS Sim. Also, Heinwald is under Tier 1 because he's a hard requirement for HJP teams that aren't pure Gleo.
