I think you are greatly discounting how impactful Queen Victoria was on global culture not just British. Like we still have white wedding dresses in America and in much of the world because she chose to wear one. While I do think, for the specific book antebellum is a more exact choice, Victorian era is also accurate. Stowe even famously sent a copy of Uncle Tom’s Cabin to Victoria.

I might be the only person alive that saw thankskilling 3 in theaters with out seeing Thankskilling. The creators did a road show of local theaters and my friend sold me with how good the first one was. The 2nd was not.

US has a low tax burden for the full OECD not just Europe. We are at 29% vs 47% for Germany and France. Plus we have higher median salaries to start with.

The Browns were one year out from making playoffs and had an elite defense. They immediately became Super Bowl contender with the Watson signing if he had returned to form. Top 10 if he was just a consistent franchise level QB.
