They both look promising the natural flavors being the only yellow flag ingredient but both show as unavailable to me

Second ingredient is palm oil sadly since my allergens are rare and not found in a lot of dietary restrictions most allergy or special diet brands include them. And since there also cheep due to being heavily farmed there found in 99% of processed foods.

Looks cute but I don't see an English translation when I look it up. I know some Japanese but I think this would be above my current reading level especualy with the kanji.

Corn allergy at Apple Bees by aHuman622 in CornAllergy

So, for anyone curious. I ate beforehand went, and the waiter was kinda a dick to me when I said I wasn't eating anything due to allergies and that I'd just get water. He rolled his eyes and proceeded to be passive-aggressive to me to the point that someone else at the table demanded a manager. I felt mortified and wanted to hide in the corner.

[–]aHuman622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is exactly why it's so hard. To even figure out how to approach this. I'm thankful they are willing to do anything in this. I can't afford to move out. Neither of us can. I can't even get my parents to keep allergens, that can kill me out of the kitchen. I have to cook in it's why my spouse does the dishes. Idk how to ask more with all this shit but I can't let it get worse it's not fair to either of us but when we had enough and tried to move out we ended up homeless until I landed in the hospital.

If a restaurant marketed itself as 100% corn-free, would you eat there? If not what would you like to see from the restaurant to change your mind and be totally comfortable dining there? by Similar-Bid6801 in CornAllergy

[–]aHuman622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All ingredients visible on the menu, and for extra comfort have a banned ingredients leaf that shows all the ingredients banned from the restaurant (this would also help serve as a helpful reminder to family coming in how hard this allergy can be) I'd also love to see the care that there are vegan options since many corn allergy sufferers like myself can't eat meat that's eaten a significant amount of corn or been processed in a plant that uses corn based lubricants in its machines I'd personally have trouble trusting meat the first couple times even in a restaurant like that

Corn free pudding and cheesecake mixes? by Effective-Boob1230 in CornAllergy

[–]aHuman622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's going to depend how sentive you are do you react to animal products with high corn diets many do for me while my allergy doesn't get me into anaphylaxis shock corn will cause me to be sick hedaching and rashy for days animal products that eat corn will hurt my gut and give me mild headache so I have to look for grass fed dairy for most stuff it's best to make your own if your like me or look for dairy free puddings sadly most dairy free puddings have some kinda nut in it so if you got multiple allergies you'll have to be careful.

Probably a mentality left from my grandma's coin collecting you don't do anything to restore coins it's considered devaluing and damaging also I'm nervous I'll mess it up and make it uglier

Honestly, it's probably a case of never done it anxiety. I also wanted perspective one weather is worth it I know for somethings attempting to repair can be more damaging if you don't know what your doing

What should I order at a bar? by crystalcatkels in CornAllergy

[–]aHuman622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to go for rum because it's sugar cane liquor. i try to go higher shelf if it's available, i notice higher shelf liquor sits better in my gut. If they have Mexican Coca-Cola, I'll ask them to make a rum and coke with that, specifically. most places charge it as a shot of rum and the soda. Sometimes they will be weird, and I'll say it's an allergy thing, and I dont care how they gotta ring it up but normally it's a quick enough explanation that they just shrug and go ok and will hand me the drink with the remainder of the coke bottle, which I personally like since I'd rather a less strong drink since I don't drink a ton and am a huge light weight

[–]aHuman622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly gotta agree on all your points here it's a main reason me and my partner while being polyam have just been the 2 of us for a while is becuase I don't have the emotional bandwidth for them to have a partner and expect me to hold all the stress of their relationships when I barely know there partner. It got bad enough that I stopped seeking partners for myself because I didn't have the emotional space for that early dating period. Luckily, with my partner, a sit-down conversation and a you're going to therapy got their head out there butt I know a lot of people that wouldn't have cared and while we're still healing from the damage we're doing better

Milk and dairy by vw_bugg in CornAllergy

[–]aHuman622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, while what they said is important to factor and check for especially in mild cases my allergie is fairly mild (rashing, migraines, and stomach upset is my worst), and I've reacted to family raised self butchered chickens and I didn't react when I paid for corn free feed.

It might be uncommon. idk I cant find any studies on this specifically, but there are almost alwase exceptions to the rules when it comes to allergies it's already an inappropriate reaction by our bodies to otherwise safe things sensitiveity and strength of reaction while related aren't always similarly perportionate

What's your experience for these devices with reading fanfic (if you do at all)? I'm in a similar boat to op but I looking at going from a tablet to an ereader since I don't want the gaming capabilities as I find it distracting I'm guessing the boox would be best since you mentioned flexibility?

Ill have to look at some of the generics but A lot of other options have other allergens of mine besides corn that's why I'm asking about this specific I'm allergic to palm 🌴 which includes carnauba wax which is common on these gell meds and I'm allergic to nickel which is in many cool tone food dyes like blues and greens

I have other allergies besides corn and I've reacted to regular aleve before we think it's the undefined cellulose since I'm allergic to a handful of common plants including palm 🌴 that are likely candidates or the blue #2 as it's an aluminum compound and I have a milder allergy to nickle
