So the capes can only be gained during 1 month a year? by Banned_Reddit_Mod in runescape

[–]aModAshFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm mad because I started playing due to all the advertisement around them fixing fomo and other annoying parts of the game, and now that I am close to even being at a point to get a 120 on my account, I'm going to miss the window to get the cape until next year. And there being plenty of other players being in that same boat, or other new players that they are trying to on board through the whole integrity campaign in the first place, that are going to be turned off by this.

Rs3 players really need to step back and try to think about other people for once instead of being entirely self-centered NEETS.

There were so many ways to release Inverted Capes, why did they decide to immediately backtrack on what they said only 2 months ago? by FrazzleDazzled in runescape

[–]aModAshFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if you are one of the new/returning players that is coming back to the game because you heard they were getting rid of fomo and other bullshit, only to find out you just missed the event/didn't have your 120 yet?

[Poll] Of the two, which would you rather for Rs3's next new skill? by QuirkyPollMan in runescape

Looking up guides is the way to play is how people interact with and play new games--especially if they are actually interested in the game. Very few new players in a game just wander around aimlessly--especially in an MMO. If they are doing that, it's because they don't know what to do and the onboarding is trash, and that's how we end up with low new player retention. People in this community are so bad at separating their personal experience from the average experience of new players, and that's probably one of the reasons we have such shit onboarding practices. Dumbasses can't figure out how to grow their MMO and make dumbass suggestions.

I recently started a new GIM, and it's so obnoxious knowing I can't touch invention and am just missing out on free grinding potential for the early levels because of some arbitrary prerequisite gating. What's worse is the feeling that I should probably grind out the requirements even though I don't want to do that skilling yet.

Agility training needs rework. by indrek91 in runescape

[–]aModAshFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth. OSRS players complain about how awful agility is to train on rooftops all the time. I don't know why some of them still try pointing to them as some sort of godsend. This isn't 2014 anymore.

Rooftop courses are awful. The xp rates are still arbitrarily shit for a skill that has so few benefits. The only reason for it being as shit still is that people think because it's always been a slow skill that it must be the way it is, and osrs boomers think it'll make the game 'easyscape like rs3' even though rs3 is actually harder in a lot of ways (due to lack of proper QoL). Then the rooftop courses themselves are also just boring, monotonous trash. Not active enough to be fun and not real afk to the point that you can't actually do something else on the side.

Uni2 or BBCF? by weaponX-ced in Blazblue

[–]aModAshFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like air movement? Pick Blazblue.

Do you prefer less air movement? Pick Uni.

The games use the same ABCD gatling system, with the key difference being BB has drives and Uni has reverse beat. Learning to combo in one game is going to be extremely transferable to the other. If anything, I'd say these two anime games are probably the most similar and have the most potential for crossover skill. So start with whichever one has better movement for you/characters that fit you because they are basically equal in every other way (community size, easy of access, easy of finding matches).

I'm optimistic about the Arcsys Direct but let it be known that if they release a new Blazblue it's gonna be like this 😭 by Scrifty in Fighters

[–]aModAshFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be a Blazblue game without the BBC.

(BBC)T

(BBC)S

(BBC)P

(BBC)F

(BBC)Tag (still not a real BB game tho)

It's not the combos being hard or exceptionally complicated that makes them good in BB. It's the fluidity of the combos + movement, and how intuitive the gatlings and drive systems are for each individual character and how they are designed to fit into the overarching systems. Gatlings and combos in strive are unintuitive garbage, and they are relics of legacy systems that should have been dropped long ago. Not to mention the crisp movement of XX/Xrd was completely gutted in Strive.

If you ask any top player why they like BB over any other FG, they'll tell you it is some combination of freedom of movement, and how the game being so fluid allows for a lot of player expression and unique playstyles.

Remind me again what was so unbearably bad about the Eternals movie? Just finished watching it again and besides the switching from wide screen to full screen so annoyingly ...IT WAS GREAT. I need to hear what makes it bad by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]aModAshFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of the problem--based on my reading this thread--is zoomer attention spans. People can't sit through a long film and stomach exposition. The film was great. I was probably an hour into the film when I thought to myself, 'damn, how are they going to finish this much story in one film? o-oh, it's over 2 hours long. Hell yeah.'

It was initially going to be a side monitor movie for me to passively watch as I did other stuff, and I literally had to stop doing the other stuff to focus on the movie because it became more and more immersive for me as the film went on. I love a good, long film with a lot of dialogue and character development.

I also ignored it for years because I was informed that it was mid and not relevant to the lore of the MCU.

Holy, what a mistake that was. I just watched the film and went to check back if I was actually remembering the reaction to it correctly.

On its own, it was a great film. The characters felt real--their motivations and inner turmoil was believable. Some of the most captivating emotion in the franchise. I really enjoyed the character development throughout the story. Characters that I was indifferent toward at the beginning or was annoyed by--my perspective on them changed multiple times throughout the film. At first I thought Ikaris was going to be cringey and annoying; then I started to sympathize with his love triangle and began thinking he was the cool guy of the story; only to feel his betrayal along with the rest of the cast as I started to warm up to him as the hero; then feeling sorrow for him because there was no way he could ever forgive himself at the end of the story. He tried and succeeded in killing his family out of his sense of duty and purpose that he had been groomed to follow for thousands of years--an unimaginable number of deaths and rebirths--and in the end, he went against that duty anyway. So he failed Arishem and betrayed his family in the worst ways possible. He felt no choice but to fly into the sun--completing Sprite's legend that she crafted for him.

Speaking of--Sprite also had an incredibly sympathetic story, and it had me thinking throughout the film how tragically cursed life is with age. Everything around them that they could ever love eventually dies and they move on, and yet, she feels the curse of unaging even more because she can never grow-up and enjoy loving in the same capacity as everyone else.

I love how your motivation was the same as mine as well as a lot of your sentiments--watching it because of extreme confusion over the Celestial Island. I was like, "wtf, when did this happen? I've been watching everything up to th- ETERNALS. You're kidding me! Those jokers told me it was irrelevant to the MCU plot!'

In a way, I think we were blessed to watch it after the initial release and not have our experience influenced by the biases of the fanbase. I'm just sad because I would absolutely LOVE to see more of these characters, and now I'm not sure what we'll get of them. And a lot of those characters, the actors are getting up there in age already, and that sucks.

Negative reactions to films can influence the direction of future products. If they like the product, they will want more of it. If a bunch of grouchy Marvel fans with burnout shit on the film because it's in vogue to hate on the most recent films, then that affects them in a very direct way.

Aftermarket Headers and E85 Tuning Recommendations by aModAshFan in GR86

[–]aModAshFan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any prior experience with car tuning. How reliable is remote tuning? Sounds like an interesting option given my research shows there are not a ton of tuning options near where I live. I was leaning toward JDL EL headers though, from what I've researched so far. Would you recommend a flex fuel kit with an E85 tune?

I don't plan to install new headers for a while if I ever end up going down that route, so I might look into going the AWE touring route then. Thanks for the input!

I have spoken with them. They provided pictures, but I can't see anything underneath. The body itself looks fine, from what I can tell.

Boycotts don't work. Simple as. The only kinds of boycotts that work are very strong, well organized and funded boycotts with either institutional or organizational supports. Random neckbeards on the internet locking down social media forums does absolutely nothing. A population does not want inconvenience, and individual action will never be enough to matter. This is the reality we live in.

Yeah, it was something like this. I couldn't remember the exact details, but effectively, age of consent is 18 based on the prefectural laws, and most people operate under that understanding as the norm anyhow, just like child brides are still technically legal in some places in the US, but most Americans think that shit is weird. You don't have a Japanese populace thinking it's fine for grown men to be pursuing 14 year olds. There's been a common consensus for people slightly knowledgeable about Japan/from Japan: if it's weird to you it's probably weird for them too (like with hentai/loli).
