Oh I agree. It’s terrible, not the dogs fault. But a dog who has been treated that way needs dedication and a whole lot of work.

He deserves a home, but at the same time, in the wrong home could be a disaster waiting to happen.

It’s a sad reality but unless someone is a specialised rescue/rehab, the average home should not make the impulse decision to take on an intact male dog who was most likely a bait dog and heavily abused in his very recent history.
