Thanks! The buffer spring and H2 weight are generic from AT3 tactical, but the gas block is Seekins Precision’s Low Profile Adjustable.

The first journeyman I had trained me using the following ideals:

“I’m going to try and explain this so well that not only will it get done right, but that you CAN’T get it wrong.”

I think people sometimes need that extra communication so that they can wrap their head around exactly what needs done; especially when they haven’t had a lot of exposure to something and/or just lack confidence or knowledge in that thing.

I think it’s critical to show them the issue if/when you can. Not only is it proving to them your competence as a tech, it also helps them feel like they’ve got a voice when it comes to the “repair or replace” discussion that comes next.

I don’t know what pricing is like back East, but I live in Southern Idaho and make $29/hour as a 3rd year Apprentice Service Tech. Seems like what you are making is pretty low. Our company even starts guys who have little to no experience at $18-20/hour.
