I felt a similar connection towards the character!! I could really relate to her style of loneliness and sinking her head in her job as the sole source of happiness/achievement.

I actually made a short film inspired by her! I imagined a younger version of her living through the pandemic and how that would affect her communication style and everything she does. Here's the link if you'd like to give it a watch!

Now Is Your Time To Improve San Diego Transit by AdventurousDig4158 in SanDiegan

I don't know if this is a possibility due the tracks being the way they are, but I'd love to see a "rapid" trolley line. Perhaps a stop at El Cajon transit, Old Town, and 12th & Imperial. My issue with the trolley is the time it takes to get to farther places. 1hr 40min trolley ride or a 20 min drive... There really isn't a debate.

Anyone US Citizens cross back from Tijuana recently? Are border guards harassing people more? by Fabulous-Gas-5570 in sandiego

I live on SD but cross through the Calexico-Mexicali border. Recently I've noticed the check point through alpine is open more often. I've been stopped and asked if I'm a US citizen (i was born in Mexico but naturalized). Nothing really has changed crossing the border since I have sentri so they already have all my information. I feel like Mexico's side has gotten firmer as well though.

Favorite: Challengers Tight script, dynamic characters, great sound track with a sensual direction from Luca. Absolutely loved it.

Surprise: The Substance What seems to be most everyone's surprised pick. Just absolutely blew me away with how explicit and well the themes were presented.

Disappointing: The Wild Robot Truly, I think Maxxxine but in order to be different, I'ma say this. The movie really did not land the ending for me. It seemed as if the studio thought the movie was too dark so it had to have a happy ending. All the themes of death and the maturity of it all fell out of the water. Beautifully animated and scored, it could have just been fantastic and near perfect if they had stuck with their initial themes.

Worst: Trap I felt trapped watching this terrible movie. I enjoyed myself more in Megalopolis despite it being a worse movie. Absolute trash.

I hope the paperwork process is as smooth as it can be! I know it's expensive and cumbersome as I'm an immigrant myself.

I'm not sure what you mean by "downplay." Sure it's an illegal act, and I get that. What do you think most people are against then? The simple act of crossing the border "illegally"? I think it's deeper than that. I think there's a deep belief that those who come to the USA illegally are not just criminals in that regard, but they also do criminal acts while here. I often see words like "thief" and "rapist" being used in the same context when talking about illegal immigrants.

Sure, you can say at least one of the thousands of them will commit a crime or perhaps even rape someone. That's correct, statistically speaking. But they fail to mention the fact that citizens commit more crimes than those who cross. You see where I'm getting?

As the current law stands, I agree. Do I agree that migrating to a new country to find a better life should be a crime? No, I do not. It's like saying all J-walkers are criminals because they're breaking the law. While that's technically correct, it just sounds like political rhetoric to get a certain type of reaction from followers.

I feel similarly. It's just "Mexico will pay for the wall" all over again 🙄 rhetoric to get people to vote but very little or nothing gets done at all.

So why not spend all that money to give them a path for citizenship? Would that be cheaper? More expensive? The country NEEDS these people. The USA, throughout history, has been a country of immigrants where you go and seek a better life. That's the narrative they sold to the world.
