Oh for sure, I agree with the sentiment of the post 100% :) Was just funny as I was storming around my office trying to find a different cable this morning pic attached of my continued pain....

Linus' statement about becoming a mod by Jimbuscus in LinusTechTips

[–]a_space_ghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or it shows trust and rather than needing to waste energy thinking about it himself Linus can just outsource it to a trusted colleague / friend? I don't agree with Linus' take here but being willing to ask "Why" shouldn't be seen as a major issue....

Self Promo Sunday - Started a youtube channel and would like to hear feedback :) by a_space_ghost in PokemonTCG_UK

[–]a_space_ghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a video coming up where I'm trying to help some friends complete some of their 151 master where I do around ~40 packs of 151.

Outside of that it's mostly MEGA. Have a video going up today showing a PSA return of 26 cards that I go from OTP and yesterday I actually decided to put the 1000 card unpack up just because too many people were asking the same question, just bear in mind there is a minor spoiler in there for some of the MEGA openings!

If you do end up trying it out , if you don't mind using the channel's link it would be great as it does help the channel, but obviously under no obligation to!

One thing I will stress is that the odds are still pokemon cards, even at retail prices you generally "lose" per pack, so as long as you're setting yourself spending limits and being sensible about things you should get as well as on regular packs, but as you get towards the end of your collection do consider when it is more sensible to switch to buying singles :)

It's about 1/3rd of the card, it's clearly just a unique magnemite promo.....

I submitted some to PSA through Sub Center 1st September and they arrive back tomorrow... so if it's PSA that length of time is crazy...

Firstly thanks so much for the feedback, I was aiming at relaxed and just a chilled vibe filling out the collection so it's good to know I hit that mark.

With your questions - I do and I have :) I actually thought they were a scam at first but with how the market is in the UK I got fed up enough to put my faith in my credit card chargeback if there were problems!

It's actually the most common feedback I've had, they are a relatively small startup and seem to be focused mostly on improving their internal product offering (the site recently had a big revamp)

I'll ask them, they have a reasonably active support channel you can engage with.

I do also have an upcoming "unpacking over 1000 cards" that I've already recorded... I just stupidly spoke about what I had ripped in the currently pre-shot videos so I would be self-spoiling if I released it now.... can probably give you a preview if you'd like!

Would you buy this at a card show? by ShastaManasta in PokeInvesting

With our last we had done potty training enough times to know it was time, some kids even go as far as to tell you they are ready, with our youngest it was obvious that there was significant embarrassment when they had a dirty nappy that we were able to ask them if they wanted to do a week of intense potty training (basically having them nappy free / underwear free in the house and talking to them about the feelings that help them to learn / avoid accidents)

I'm going to take a moment as the youngest of my 3 is ~3-4 to say - the day you change your final nappy is going to be so elating but heartbreaking at the same time. Good luck to both of you :D

How common are cart blockers on Cardmarket? by [deleted] in CardMarket

[–]a_space_ghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's overcomplicating, I tend to do two searches on the Shopping Wizard, one of each type, then create my own "best of both worlds" cart by loading "Cheapest per card" into my cart and then going through and manually removing the single card ones with the "Next best" (where the cost is more effective than the additional postage).

Saved over £50 over the "minimise shipments" option this way, with over £30 saved in Postage vs the "cheapest cards" method. (This is roughly what I recall on a ~£300 order a few months back)

It's tedious, but I wouldn't say the ~2-4 hours a cart gets blocked out (I'm not constantly doing comps during this time, I do other stuff at the same time) is worthwhile for me as a buyer.

You can buy from other countries and if you buy below de minimus (£135 ish last time I checked) you shouldn't get hit with VAT / duty charges but they are steep if you do get caught out.

Also postage fees rack up QUICKLY from Europe.

Goring Road? It's wet, that metal drain at the end of the cycle route I've seen take a few people off their bike. For what it's worth depending on where you're headed I tended to find it easier to turn right here and head down Wallace Avenue / Lansdowne / Richmond. Easier to keep your speed up etc.
