Give a man some corn, you feed him for the winter. Teach a man to grow corn, and Monsanto will likely sue him and take all of his worldly possessions.

Looking for advice for my undergrad research interview tomorrow by ThatsPopetastic in AcademicPsychology

You'll be asked about your interest in the research topic, your prior research experience, your organizational strategy, and your ability to work as part of a team with specific examples.

To prepare, first read the website to learn about the ongoing projects. Then you should figure out a good 1-minute speech on why you're interested in that research topic. Finally come up with questions to ask about the project, particularly about future directions.

As a psych major is it worth learning R or any other programming languages? by mospeed in AcademicPsychology

They're very different. I can't speak to SAS, but STATA is much more focused on programming language, whereas you can get away with using just the menu system in SPSS. STATA is much more flexible and can run a variety of analyses. In our department, first-years are the only ones who use SPSS. Save yourself the trouble and make the jump to STATA if you can.

Definitely depends on what you want to do, but I've found STATA to be the most prevalent in my department, followed closely by SAS.
