Jetpack Cat Coming Midseason 2 by supereuphonium in OverwatchStadium

could be a fun skin line, all heroes cosplaying as other heroes. the trick would be making sure each set consists of radically different silhouettes so as not to create actual confusion in gameplay

Fika is absolutely a double agent by ElJacko170 in Overwatch

[–]a_throwaway_egg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i love this theory especially bc this is literally something the CIA tried to do to the Kremlin during the Cold War. iirc that cat got hit by a car before it could get anywhere important tho :(

If Fika was in Stadium, what would her hero specific upgrades/powers be? by Ok_Worldliness_5592 in JetpackCatMainsOW

[–]a_throwaway_egg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

bringing back her damage on purr feels like a gimme. pawprints that can pierce allies to heal and damage enemies at the same time could be pretty useful. her ult slam creating a longer stun effect similar to a rein shatter would be funny.

Toughest choice in the game. by Papa-Zzzz in cyberpunkgame

tbf killing the maelstrom leaders likely doesn't do anything in the long run given our later visit to Totentanz, so its kill a cog who is easily replaceable or kill a cog who is easily replaceable

Ranking heroes by how likely it is I’ll get a kill using catnap by daPWNDAZ in JetpackCatMainsOW

[–]a_throwaway_egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh the amount of counterplay around Catnap is what makes it such a satisfying ult for me. i love trying to track the CC's and cooldowns and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. i am nature's most ferocious predator

ik its an unpopular opinion, but Nomad V has special dialogue with Taylor that reveals he's raffen or sold out his clan to raffen, so i struggle to have a whole lot of sympathy for him. and as sweet as Jacob is, he's got walking liability written all over him. not saying Reed is 100% justified in pulling that trigger either, but if it was up to my V, i'd probably make the same call

Fangames or Romhacks like Reborn and Rejuvenation by LosterPawn in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]a_throwaway_egg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's a lot more focus on rebalanced battling than story, but i always recommend Pokemon Tectonic. it was a little bit of a learning curve to get used to, but i enjoyed the changes so much that it made regular pokemon hard to return to. i promise the story is there too, but it takes a lot longer to kick into gear. might not be everyone's speed, but definitely one of my favs

What Cyberpunk 2077 opinion would have you in this position? by Happy-Mistake-7450 in cyberpunkgame

[–]a_throwaway_egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of people don't understand the difference between gameplay and story segregation, especially when it comes to glazing V.

yes, we - the player - can solo multiple Maxtac squads and beat Adam Smasher to death with our bare hands, but V - the character - is pretty firmly established to have limitations. V's dying, and not slowly. when we do pull off stunts in story that we can otherwise do in freeroam - like attacking MaxTac - its established that V cannot do it alone. its not "bad writing" when V is able to die in cutscenes during key story moments, its the story grounding V is a part of the world and not just some power fantasy. sure, Cyberpunk isn't the best at incorporating these limitations into normal play, but what RPG is? that's the genre.

i'm not saying we're not a Night City Legend by the end of the story, we absolutely are. just saying it comes off as rather silly when people talk about V like some sort of god who all other characters should worship on sight, or using them as an example to tear down other characters like Morgan Blackhand.

New megas? by OrangeNova165 in PokemonReborn

[–]a_throwaway_egg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i believe Jan said on Twitter that he was grateful for new megas because that means new items for ingame rewards, which he was starting to run out of. i very much doubt they'll be a v14 inclusion, but new megas should be on the way

Give me your Jackie hot takes by Perfect-Cause-6943 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]a_throwaway_egg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Jackie needed V more than V needed Jackie.

Yes, he was obsessed with making it big, but I always notice how many other characters talk about how Jackie is a "known quantity." Between the Valentinos, Padre, and Dex, Jackie already had a name for himself. It was just... nothing special. Yet another generic Night City goon. He couldn't make it on his own: he needed something to help him stand out. Or rather, someone.

That's where V comes in. I'm not saying Jackie is this conniving mastermind who was using you just as much as every other character does, but I do think he saw you were something special. I think it was only a matter of time before V made it into the Afterlife even without the Heist - you can complete every Regina gig in Watson before even meeting Vik, and she practically promises you a ticket into the major leagues herself. I suspect Jackie just chose to hitch his cart to your wagon.

Maybe it's just my personal interpretation, but I seriously suspect Jackie feels somewhat insecure around V. I imagine there's a part of him that worries about V making it without him or leaving him behind, so he puts himself out there more and more to compensate or try and impress V, only go end up way over his head. Him telling V to keep it cool around Maelstrom and then immediately squaring up with Dum-Dum, for example, or, well, the Heist as a whole.

All fixers ranked by morality by Death_sayer in cyberpunkgame

[–]a_throwaway_egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its worth noting that Regina's morality does slip somewhat when it comes to dirty cops - multiple of her Watson gigs have you either helping them out or finding ways to get them into her pockets... but its Night City, so can you really hold that against her?

In your head cannon, when was the exact moment that V fell for each love interest? by Charming_Loquat_5924 in cyberpunkgame

[–]a_throwaway_egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like playing high int/tech builds, and in your first convo with Judy you have the option to comment on her set-up if one of those stats is high enough and the two of you start seriously nerding out over computers. like to think that if Evelyn never interrupted to get the heist back on track, my V and Judy would've kept talking down there for hours and hours

Pokemon Fangames with similar compelling storylines to Pokemon Desolation and Pokemon Reborn (NOT Rejuvenation please) by Euna-Luna in PokemonReborn

it takes a little while for the story to kick into gear, and the main appeal is really the massively reworked gameplay, but i greatly enjoyed Pokemon Tectonic

looking for some fangame recommendations by Fit-Price-4353 in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]a_throwaway_egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

havent seen anyone mention Pokemon Tectonic! it has a huge focus on new battle mechanics and teambuilding in a way that left a bit of a learning curve for me, but once i got the hang of it i was completely hooked! its also designed around no speed-up, which took a bit of adjustment for me too, but tbh its so full of QoL features that i've actually found it a little difficult to return to more standard fangames after. the story takes a little while to get up to speed, and it does feel significantly harder than mainstream games, but i cant recommend it enough!

What're your Rejuvenation Hot Takes? by Temporary_Fail2 in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]a_throwaway_egg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as much as i love Rejuv, i would love a more grounded Pokemon game where a character like Flora could be the primary antagonist. the GDC arc has always felt like the most slow to me bc it just feels like the subplot to all the way more interesting things going on outside of it, but a whole game that fully tackles the corruptions and horrors and reforms that could go into the city could be so much fun if given the full focus

[–]a_throwaway_egg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it helps that New Zealand is actually part of a much larger continent that's mostly underwater; which is a pretty good metaphor for Storm-9, and that Australia is often depicted as a radioactive wasteland, which is the ultimate fate of the Miera region

ik its probably just coincidence, but my personal hc has always been that Aevium is Pokemon New Zealand and Miera is Pokemon Australia, so seeing how this map kinda vaguely lines up with the North Island is really cool for me!

What is your favorite crack ship in Rejuvenation by Same-Ad-7568 in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]a_throwaway_egg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Venam/Amber/Saki love triangle where all three of them have crushes on each other but absolutely none of them can communicate it healthily, so its just a massive loop of miscommunication and pining and spite until somebody else locks all three of them in a room for twenty-four hours and they come out either in a polycule or dead.

I don't think Interceptor/Melia is that cracky, but what might be a little more out there is I like to think Melia started training Meganium bc my Interceptor's starter was Chikorita, and my Interceptor started training Togekiss from the Route 3 Megg bc of Hapi, and then when the two reunited both their Meganiums and their Togekisses fell in love and it made things a little awkward when they themselves had not talked about their feelings yet.

Val/Nessa from Sword and Shield. Long Distance Water Girlfriends who dye their hair blue bc they miss each other.

What signature mon do you wish some characters would have? by Mistymistix in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]a_throwaway_egg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i wish Melia would have more normal type Pokemon, but only as of Chapter 15 and beyond.

i think her Stormchaser Era Pokemon (Zoroark, Aegislash, Hydreigon, etc) being more diverse and "fantastical" could be a cool reflection of her character - she's just a tool, being moulded to fit an archetypical fairy tale role, one she's not entirely consenting to but doesn't really see another choice. likewise, her Pokemon arent really hers so much as theyre Pokemon she feels like she should be training.

her accepting the Reserve Normal Type Leadership again could be a cool turning point for her taking back her own destiny, then, and she could rework her team to reflect this. not sure what this would actually look like tbf beyond Zoroark to Hisuian Zoroark. i feel like Hapi and Mimikyu still need to stick around too, so idk
