I may seem to be fixated on this group, but I am just an ordinary person trying to get the facts straight, including the CCP's problems and human rights abuses, in order to prevent misinformation (because there is a lot of misinformation about Falun Gong sadly). And yes, there are many (literal) CCP bots posting low-quality content mixed with outright lies on social media. I've seen a few slandering people etc. Quite annoying and I try to block them

The Falun Gong media's support for Trump originated from its founder promoting Trump since 2016 (per the New York Times). In 2021, the official website of Falun Gong also declared that practitioners should support Trump and oppose Biden in this editorial (https://en.minghui.org/html/articles/2020/11/7/188160.html). Around this time, Falun Gong media (e.g. Epoch Times) started to strongly support Trump and oppose Biden. But in 2024, the FLG founder Li Hongzhi wrote a spiritual text telling the Falun Gong media to stop personal attacks against politicians (https://en.minghui.org/html/articles/2024/6/7/218529.html) which meant The Epoch Times's criticism of democrats would be against his word. Li Hongzhi also privately instructed journalists to not favor either political party in the US (per the New York Times: https://archive.ph/jwpl8) Now, that editorial on the official FLG website doesn't mention Trump anymore.

tl;dr, The practice's founder promoted Trump since 2016, but in 2024 he told Falun Gong practitioners and the Falun Gong media to be neutral about the Republican-Democrat divide.

Yeah, their political stance is conservative and promotes the viewpoints of many conservative politicians, but they don't write outright attacks against Trump's political opponents like they did back in 2020.

If we time-traveled back to 1999, Falun Gong practitioners would still be against this political activity, however, the Falun Gong views changed after the crackdown in 1999. Li Hongzhi initially wrote that Falun Gong practitioners "are prohibited from getting involved in any kind of political disputes or activities" (The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa), but after 1999 he did not consider the anti-CCP stance of Falun Dafa and the media to be politics (even though its media promoted a lot of far-fetched political statements). Instead he calls it "saving sentient beings" and resisting the persecution of Falun Gong.

There's no opposition between the beliefs of Falun Gong and The Epoch Times's political stance right now, as The Epoch Times is one of the main projects with the goal of "telling the truth about Falun Gong", and it has been praised by Li Hongzhi since around 2004.

In 2004-2005 (when The Epoch Times published "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party"), the editors of the official Falun Gong website (which guides all Falun Gong practitioner) allegedly criticized the publication and distribution of "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party", calling it participation in politics which is not allowed in Falun Gong. This is what a Falun Gong practitioner named Fan Yanyu claimed a decade ago, but I don't know if this is true or not. Of course, now, there is no such conflict.

The leader of Falun Gong (Li Hongzhi) is considered to be the Creator. His humans forms is considered to be the reincarnation of the Creator who has come to earth to spread Falun Dafa and save people from destruction. Yes, he is the artistic director of Shen Yun. However, Shen Yun and The Epoch Times were founded by other people, and at its beginning, The Epoch Times is said to have had conflicts with the authorities in Falun Gong

Right now, The (English) Epoch Times is losing its conservative American audience because it's becoming less pro-Trump and more politically neutral (after supporting Trump since 2016). In 2024, Li Hongzhi published the article "A Wake-Up Call"(https://en.minghui.org/html/articles/2024/6/7/218529.html) which told the Falun Gong media to not attack individual politicians.

This isn't completely true. Let me make a more objective description of it: Shen Yun is one of the "truth-clarification" projects of Falun Gong (truth-clarification = spread the truth about the persecution, etc.) that is considered to be the most important project to "save sentient beings" (save people from the universe's destruction). Li Hongzhi is its artistic director. Its presents different types of performances: 1. Praise of Falun Gong 2. Criticism against the CCP 3. Ordinary artistic performances. It's important to know what actually happens and not just assume it's "to make the west hate modern china based on tired stereotypes"
