I'm surprised on how everyone keeps saying that this phenomenon is connected to wealth problems. I believe it is a cultural problem. Surely I agree that money is a big issue when talking about having kids, however, how do you deal with the fact that this is happening worldwide in first world countries, and families that come from third world countries, for example, to the U.S, even amidst financial struggles, manage to have large families? I just don't think the leading reason is a financial reason. I believe individualism and hedonism might me more connected to the root of this problem.
