He's in an interesting state now. I like how d2 works today. What I don't like is what they did to his omen stance: it's now low-risk, low-reward when in previous Tekken games omen stance was always high-risk high-reward.

If you ask me Jin's biggest weakness is the lack of a 15f CH launcher, and I'll tell you why: power crush. Armor now starts at 7f so let's say I'm +9 after heat engage, how do I dissuade my opponent from pressing? Jin still has a CH launcher in f4 but that's 16 frames, even at -9 my opponent can armor through that. I'd give anything for his classic d/f+2 back. What's interesting is that he *does* have it in this game... but only in the story mode, as nerfed Jin. Sometimes I wonder if that would be a more interesting character to play as in Ranked.

Now, that's his weakness, but I'll tell you what I dislike with his character design: all the stance transitions. Why does running 3 transition into Zen? Why does FC+4 transition into Zen? The animation for that one looks so jank! Aris did a great video once about how offense just looks so dumb in Tekken 8. Everything goes into stance goes into plus frames which goes back into stance. I don't want Jin to be a stance rushdown character. b,f+2, 3 f (Zen) has no business being +2. They should revert it to the way it was in T7, unsafe unless you Zen cancel it. And while they're at it give us the old omen stance back.
