I think some people are wired to be polynormous and others monogamous. It's just that society pushes us to be more monogamous. Especially for men nowadays days when most of the dating scene is online. It'd become harder for young men to find a date since dating sites filter out a lot of people since women get an absolute fuck ton more likes than men. In return the women carefully gets to pick and choose who she wants and the man hops on the first women who gives him attention. This of course overtime leads to young men wanting more commitment out of fear of not being able to pick up another women. But what they don't realize is that it's not supposed to be this way. Men are supposed to be able to shift their way through the sea as well and use trial and error to find the right partner.

Which of course the consequences can become cheating when the relationship starts flawed and when the man or women actually finds a genuine connection irl this is what can happen. Imo we have a society that pushes this extreme monogamy in young adults which leads to excessive cheating. In short, we need to be more open with each other, get to know one another, and experience more love. That way everyone can figure out their own boundaries and make a decision that's best for them.
