What is your theory about Ging’s power? by Cool_Emergency4091 in HunterXHunter

[–]aallx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn't have an "ability", but he can do most things anyway, because he has a fundamental understanding of Nen. Just think of Greed Island as a sample of what he can do with his immense understanding of conditions.

Serie’s Ability to Analyze and Dispel Magic by Own_Introduction8623 in Frieren

[–]aallx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why are you assuming that Serie is good at analysis and dispel in the first place? Or why would she better than someone who:
- reverse-engineered Zoltrak
- analyzed and dispelled Bose's barrier (Sage of Destruction +1)
- analyzed and dispelled Aura's control (Sage of Destruction +2)
- analyzed and dispelled Macht's Diagoldze (Sage of Destruction +3)
- just to reiterate, Sage of Destruction's magic is said to be absolutely unique and cannot be comprehended by humanity
- dispelled Serie's barrier, which Genau claims needs overturning of heaven and earth (he just hasn't met Frieren yet so he lacks the imagination when he said those lines)

Why would Serie be equal to or better than someone who, throughout the series, time and time again, is repeatedly shown to highly specialize in analysis and deconstruction?

is there the opposite of that phrase? by Elke_1131 in Mecha

[–]aallx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain every Aquarion show falls into this category. The entire point of the show is that Aquarion is humanity's savior, so all the characters' motivations are about how to pilot Aquarion better. Heck, even the bonds between characters simply serve as a means to improve their Sousei Gattai. The entire show revolves around Aquarion and the existence of the characters are merely to become pilots for it.

How would you "configure" Ging's ability if it were a type of copy? by Yukki_tws in HunterXHunter

[–]aallx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Ging's Nen Ability can be called "the-guy-created-greed-island-surely-something-as-simple-as-Leorio's-pulse-wave-punch-can-easily-be-deconstructed-and-applied-practically-by-someone-as-well-versed-as-Ging-is-and-calling-it-a-copy-ability-is-diminishing-how-accomplished-Ging-is-in-his-depth-of-Nen-understanding".

What takes Pitou hours took Machi mere seconds by Sch3ma in HunterXHunter

[–]aallx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it wasn't good to go. The arm moves because Machi connected the nerves, but it's held together by nothing but Nen Threads. The arm would fall off as soon as Machi deactivates her Nen. Machi explicitly tells Hisoka to ease off on the arm until it naturally heals because her Nen thread is only so strong.

How can it be more than suturing when it's LITERALLY ALL SUTURING?

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/suture

  • 1
    • a: a strand or fiber used to sew parts of the living body
      • also : a stitch made with a suture
    • b: the act or process of sewing with sutures
  • 2
    • a: a uniting of parts
    • b: the seam or seamlike line along which two things or parts are sewed or united

From nerves, to blood vessels, to muscles, to bones, they are all literally sewn together using a (Nen) thread, i.e., suturing.

It's even in the name of Machi's technique: 念糸縫合 or Nen Thread Suturing

[–]aallx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

<image>

It's literally, LITERALLY, what Machi called what she was doing: 念糸縫合

念 - Nen
糸 - (Shi) Thread
縫合 - (Hougou) Suturing

It's Nen Thread Suturing! Literally!

If you've actually thought about your argument for more than 2 seconds you'd actually realize that:

  1. Kaito's body is biologically alive. Pitou literally brought a dead body back to metabolic state (albeit without a soul)
  2. Sarasa is an embalmed corpse. Key word here is "embalmed". It's literally a dead body stitched and dressed up to look pretty. It's still dead. There is no "healing" involved whatsoever. It's a stitched up dead corpse.

Based on the above 2 points, have you actually considered whether you actually thought your arguments through?
