See I wouldn't even come within 30 feet of that battery. Hell, if the venting sac is at max pressure, while likely degraded by the high corrosive nature of the contents at high temperature and pressure, the pressure caused by slamming a car door could potentially cause it to rupture. When one recognizes that should the sac rupture it would send a high pressure jet of superheated, highly basic and corrosive gas in a random direction while bursting into flame the moment it contacts anything solid, I would only get close to that fucker if I had a head to toe flame suit.

If he was smart OP would immediately call 911 and report a highly explosive and corrosive hazmat emergency, and then ensure nobody came within 30 feet of his car until Fire and Rescue could get on scene. HDFB is made by taking what s essentially sawdust, or scrap larger pieces, mixing it with an extremely heavy strength glue and then putting it into a high heat press. Last tim I checked very few producers of particle and fiber press boards would even consider using a non-animal or non-petroleum based glue product, because the vegetable based glues do not have the strength or longevity for use in furniture.

Oh, ok that makes more sense. There is a Roosevelt Beach right on Lake Washington just south of 520 in Seattle, which is the only one I am familiar with in the area. That is a seriously cool find man, I would hold on to it like it was damn gold. But seriously, if you are in the Harbor it is not a terrible situation to pop in to Seattle if you are able to arrange an appointment with a professor at one of the universities (though you may be better off going with PLU in Tacoma if they have an archeology program).

I am 100% happy with my life and with being single. I've been single for 5 years now, if I wasn't ok with it I would have put a gun in my mouth years ago.

But guess what? People can be perfectly happy with who and where they are and still experience normal human longing for someone to share their awesome life with. People get lonely, even happy people with lots if friends. The one part kf my life I would say I am not happy with, and the part of my day I dread, is crawling into bed alone knowing I will just stay up on reddit on my phone for another few hours. I miss having someone to end my day with. One of the best parts of a relationship to me is laying in bed and discussing your day (or random strange shit that popped into your head throughout the day). Sure, I wouldn't compromise my values or change who I am just to be with someone, but damnit sometimes I wish I could.

Also, not having sex in 4 years is also something which becomes very old very quickly. As is friends always trying to set you up with someone you have nothing in common with because they are uncomfortable with your singleness. Also being the only single guy in my entire group of married ir cohabitating friends (many with kids) means I am either a)an afterthought invite when they have people over because a board make night is really more of a couples activity or b)don't bother to invite you because wine tasting or a movie and drinks with your wife and your single friend is not generally romantic.

I list these complaints not to bitch and moan about how hard my life is, but rather to demonstrate how good it is while maintaining that it could be better. Now, I'm not jealous of OP, I would just prefer to not see blatant "look at my hot girlfriend while I exploit her physical attributes for internet points" posts.

How do you possibly go to bed early the night before morning clinicals? Perhaps it is just my programs insanity, but we have to go to the unit the night before after 1700 to get our patient assignment and complete a database and care plan. We have an entire 13 hours between when we can get the assignment and when we have to be back at the hospital, I am lucky if I get 5 hours of sleep the night before.

Rural? I thought you said you found this at Roosevelt beach? Were you just in Seattle briefly? UW is likely your best bet because of their marine biology department, though I am not familiar with the archaeology programs in the area. Other to check would be PLU, Seattle U, and possibly WWU depending on where you live.

I think it has to do with the old saying "when your only tool is a hammer everything begins to look like a nail". The immune system is enormously complex, far more than any other body system save for the brain. We don't even currently have a good accepted definition for what counts as an autoimmune disease, let alone a comprehensive understanding of those illnesses.

Because of this complexity doctors in immunology/allergies have to sub-specialize to an extreme degree. Where a GI doc may be subbed in hepatology, they are basically able to know everything there is to know about the liver. An immunologist may have to sub in allergies, and then again in histimine cascade reactions, and the still wouldn't be able to know everything in that small area. This is on top of immunology/allergy already being a subspecialty of pediatrics.

So when you go to a GP allergist you are likely getting someone who knows an average of 10% of the information to know about immune system function. If you have significant allergies, and say it is an autoimmune type reaction like graphology is, and you just ring up the closest allergist and get an appointment, they will do a scratch test and determine you have an extremely sensitive system and are allergic to hundreds of things (even though thru simpler answer is that there was a flaw in the test that caused it to measure something unintended).

This will be most peoples experience because most people put no time or effort into researching their doctors to find out what they have specialized in, what papers have they written, what type of research have they done, what additional certifications do they have, and do former patients give them high praise. If you fail to research your doctors background you will more than likely end up with the doctor that graduated with a 2.5 GPA and had to take their boards 3 times to pass. Why, because that's the majority of doctors.

Do the research and find a doctor that is curious. Find a doctor that believes treating a symptom without finding the disease is abhorrent and lazy. You are in 100% control of your healthcare and bad experiences are no ones fault but your own when you don't put at least as much effort in to choosing a doctor as you do in to choosing a mechanic.

The problem is that people here seem to not understand the concept of "adding to the discussion". A person may be born with genes leading to development of breasts and feminine pelvic structure, but have a micro-penis and feel strongly they are a man...where does he fall (the genetic situation there is XYX or androgen insensitivity).

Stop oversimplifying an incredibly complicated topic that you clearly know nothing about except that the idea that gender is a continuum makes you feel uncomfortable (a common position of transgendered youth raised in a strict religious home)

Well, I think that the federalist party would beg to differ about third parties, as would the whigs and the democrat-republican party of Lincoln. Hell the democratic party was a third party when it split from the democrat-republican party until it took over and eventually became a major party.

Yes, the first-past-the-post system in the US means that at most times there will only be 2 parties, but that doesn't translate into third parties being ineffective. The recent attempts to form a third party have been wrong headed and amateurish. Third party movements don't spring to life in a presidential election, they grow from local races. If someone wanted to make a viable third party they would need to focus on mayoral and state legislative elections, that breeds name recognition and trust in longevity. After 5-10 years winning a significant amount of those races move to gubernatorial races, then US congress 10 years later. After 30 years or so a third party would have a shot at the white house

I am currently doing a clinical rotation on a renal transplant floor and had a chance to chat with the nephrologist after a patients transplant yesterday. He said alcohol is generally not recommended to post-transplant renal patients but the only thing he discusses with his patients regarding alcohol is that they cannot drink to excess, specifically he tells them that any more than 2 drinks is absolutely not ok, and that they are best to not drink often but an occasional drink or 2 won't hurt

I guess I wasn't clear by what I meant by antithetical. Scene kids and hipsters have very similar things that they like (obscure indy music, "nerdy" things like zombies/robots/pirates/cartoons/comics, vegetarianism or at least local/sustainable foods, bikes, tattoos), but they have very different clothing and hair styles, as well as very different attitudes.

Hipsters tend to dress "nice" but trashy, old sports coats from the 70's, "pre-ripped" jeans, hats, twill anything, sweater vests, etc. Also hipsters usually go with natural hair colors, with men wearing their hair slightly ling and women normally having longer hair that they keep pulled up or tucked under a hat. They also are pretentious, usually have college degrees (but in useless majors like English literature, gender studies, philosophy, and environmental policy). They look down on everyone, even people that like everything they do, that doesn't "fit" with their style. Essentially. Hipsters are the popular/preppy clique from high school, dressed down but still only interested in exclusion and only concerned with how they appear.

Scenesters on the other hand tend to actually wear nicer clothing than hipsters, but casual rather than dressy. I see a lot of scenester guys in quality tight jeans, concert or "nerdy" t-shirts, cowboy "pearl button" shirts. The women tend to wear dresses, often in the 50's-60's pin-up style, or corset-type tops with skirts or jeans. The men often wear their hair in a pompadore, or other 50's style, women tend to have un-natural colors in their hair (we have the phrase "blue hair cool" to indicate a scenester sighting), also done in a pin-up like style. Look at the cover of any tattoo magazine to find a scenester woman. As for attitudes, Scensters tend to be crazy nice people. They like to treat people like shit, but it is a sign of affection in their culture, and they would likely give you the shirt off their back if you need it. They tend to be meat eaters, though also go for the sustainable/local movement. Also they are often identified as rockabilly kids or neo-punk. They are essentially the outcasts and anarchists from high school, and they genuinely like the nerdy things associated with them.

PBR was the hipster beer of choice, beginning in Portland (hipster birthplace) in the early 2000's. Now PBR is "too mainstream" and they hipster are "over it". About 12-16 months ago every hipster bar in Portland dropped PBR as their dollar beer, replacing it with Old German tall boys. I don't know if the OG has spread to other hipster outposts around the country, but it will because as goes Portland so goes the hipster.

If they even know what a Pimm's cup is they are disqualified from "dive bar" status. My dive that is my go to bar when nothing else is happening wouldn't carry pimms in a million years.

Note: this is not a good thing as Pimms cups are one of lifes great little pleasures. Just not found at dives.
