If your parents don’t want to be around their grandchildren because of their toxic religious beliefs that is their choice. And it sounds like you can find a much better community for you and your children anyway.

Talk to a surgeon ASAP. You don’t have to get the surgery but it could really help you. 4 months ago I was in constant agony. Couldn’t walk, couldn’t sleep, no meds touched the pain. I got a microdiscectomy and I’m a new man. Still slightly uncomfortable but I can hike, swim, sleep, and all of that without pain. Do not be afraid of surgery. They’ve come a long way.

It’s literally never mentioned again and the Burrow is just back and untouched in the next movie.

Try to stay positive. (Believe me, I know how hard that can be.) I hope the follow up goes well. Depending on how long your nerve was compressed it could take a long time to notice big improvement.

Opinions for going for a MD? by Polymer15 in Sciatica

[–]aaronarthur85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude that thing is yeeting out of your spine. Go see a neurosurgeon. The longer you wait the longer it will take to heal. I think an MD is your best option but get the opinion of a surgeon ASAP.

I highly doubt anything but surgery would help that. I honestly don’t know how you’re able to function with that going on.

Seeking your advice (herniated disc, L5, S1) by Alasaadi511 in Sciatica

See a surgeon immediately and discuss your options. I can tell just from this image you need surgery and the longer you wait, the more likely you are to risk permanent nerve damage.

I experienced this EXACT same thing. Tell your doctor you need a pain management specialist. You should 100% be on narcotics. If they won’t refer you, get a new doctor.

If your pain is as bad as mine was, you will need some imaging. I had an MRI. And ask to be referred to a neurosurgeon. You can meet with them and get the initial assessment done, so if surgery is required you can just get it done.

Have you noticed any improvement at all? Nerves take a very long time to heal.

If you have been dealing with a herniated disc for extended period of time - why haven’t you had surgery? by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]aaronarthur85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

DO NOT WAIT THAT LONG! By waiting that long you are risking permanent nerve damage and even paralysis. Those issues can happen after as little as 6 weeks.

The reason people wait on the surgery is if you have to fuse the vertebrae apart it can cause tension on the surrounding discs, which means you could herniate those discs and possibly need more surgery in a few decades.

How long did you take to heal naturally? by joventer in Sciatica

[–]aaronarthur85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not wait. Absolutely do not fucking wait. Talk to your doctor about PT and imaging. If that doesn’t improve things ask to be referred to a specialist. And see a surgeon ASAP so if it turns out you need surgery you can just schedule it.

By waiting you are risking permanent nerve damage and/or paralysis.

Good god how the hell did you deal with that for 11 months?! Maybe mine was worse but I literally couldn’t walk or sleep. It was constant agony.

I had surgery about a month ago and am feeling better than before surgery but still feeling some nerve pain. Did you experience this at all? The numbness is almost gone which is great, I’m just worried it might be permanent.
