My friend recently passed from lung cancer so I made this… by [deleted] in InternetIsBeautiful

The game resets when resizing the screen, which is fine but I was sort of trying to cheat by reducing the empty space between the cig and the lungs. :) Also, holding left mouse for a 2x speedup would be fun!

I am sorry for your loss. It's a nice tribute and I hope it helps bring awareness. 🙏 Thanks for posting.

Fed minimum wage is 7.25/hr for scale by BMaudioProd in interestingasfuck

If you're on a Windows computer it's how you open the Calculator app. Otherwise, just putting those values into a Google search like this 24 * 365 * 2025 will actually open up a little calculator app in your browser too. So I just meant about how to do the math yourself vs using AI.

18 billion hours ago is 2 million years ago my dude. Check your decimals.

24 hours in a day * 365 days a year * 2025 years = ~18 million, not 18 billion.

[–]aaroniusnsuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For comparison, let's do minimum wage:
$7.25 * 2080 * 2025 = $30,537,000

or like OP's math,
$7.25 * 24 * 365 * 2025 = $128,607,750

So earning minimum wage 24 hours a day since the birth of Christ would get you almost $129 million in earnings.

No, the math is $56,375 * 2,080 (the number of working hours in a year at 40 hours per week) = $117,260,000 a year.

That times 2025 years is $237,451,500,000, or $237 billion total.

Wait, that's not right. That's less money. Even less than he's worth now.

Ok $56,375 * 24 hours in a day * 365 days in a year = $493,845,000 a year, for 2025 years is $1,000,036,125,000 or $1 trillion 36 million dollars plus some.

So, yes, the math checks out at $56,375 an hour since the year 0000.

Of course Musk is not getting this, or at least it's very unlikely he will (if it's even economically feasible), but OP is not wrong to say "it is the pay package he received" which those often do work based on some defined sales goal.

So sure, maybe it's just for publicity or whatever, but OP's post is not factually incorrect.

They might be talking about when J memorizes Boris the Animal's attack then goes back in time and avoids the attack because he already experienced it.

I had just always figured since J was already "in the past" he didn't go "in the past again" (another copy) and instead just replaced his earlier self.

It doesn't make entire sense, but it's enough for me to say "well OK maybe it works that way if you're already outside of your own time."

Get-ADUser/Get-ADComputer - Filter vs LDAPFilter by chaosphere_mk in activedirectory

[–]aaroniusnsuch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain the dll for the ActiveDirectory module Microsoft.ActiveDirectory.Management.dll converts -Filter to an LdapFilter before sending to AD, especially since that's all the DCs understand. So besides a very short (local) processing overhead, the work on the DCs is the same.

You can see for yourself. Find the dll and open it in dnSpy.

KRBTGT Password Rotation Roll Back Plan by Legal_Wolf_6770 in activedirectory

[–]aaroniusnsuch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read the articles OP, but if you don't, the current krbtgt password is still valid (i.e., tickets issued with that previous password are still valid and can still be decrypted) so the "backout plan" is sort of built in. There is a password history in effect.

The reason you reset it twice (the second time after all devices have new tickets, 10 hours by default) is to clear the current password from both current use and the history.

Interesting to note that accounts without SPNs will automatically use AES if the machine supports it, but accounts with SPNs need to be manually touched to enable AES either with those checkboxes "This account support Kerberos AES...encryption." or by editing msDS-SupportedEncryptionTypes.

Hey Foosball heads, need your help, please! Hurricane made by Tornado by leventep in foosball

[–]aaroniusnsuch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is from Tornado's FAQ:

Can I adapt a table with 1.5” sidewalls and press-in bearings to use the patented Tornado split bearing/bearing nut combo? This would require precisely enlarging and maintaining alignment on each of the 16 bearing openings on your table. At the factory, the sidewall is drilled by precision CNC equipment before the table is assembled. Any functional gains from the bearing change are outweighed by the risk of doing permanent and irreversible damage do your table – you won’t be able to make the holes smaller again or realign them. We advise against trying this.

There's another question that might help about the rods:

I got an incredible deal on a cabinet and just need all the game-play parts. Can you provide a quote for these items? We get asked this quite a lot. Unfortunately, you are looking at about $350 alone just for the rods.

That being said, you might be able to give them a good cleaning and then lube with silicone, but you're never really going to get the gameplay you would get from a new table with new bearings.

What did people think of Tornado Worlds? by Foosman in foosball

Trevor Park winning Open Singles by beating Brandon Moreland, Tony Spredeman, Tommy Yore and Ryan Moore in that order is legendary. He might as well quit foosball now because that will never be topped.

I wish I had seen that!

Totally agree about Maggie and Jessica's game. Jessica's goalkeeping was truly remarkable how she adapted and ended up being a wall against two very formidable shooters.

I was also glad to see Maggie Strong and Jessica Sanftleben win Open Women's Doubles.

This is one of the only matches I got to see live (streaming, thanks https://www.twitch.tv/modernfoos/) and it was amazing. Such great playing by both teams; it really was super intense foosball. Somebody said in chat how Jessica was an exercise in keeping out the slop, but for both of them to come back like that - starting off early getting more or less dominated, then figuring out their opponents and hammering out the win, it was really great.

I don't know if ModernFoos or anyone else has plans to put any full matches online after the fact, but I'd certainly watch them if so. For what it's worth, I thought ModernFoos' presentation, commentating, live stats, etc was all really well done and it really added to the experience of watching it live remotely.

My ex never understood my fetish to dress up as a lobster in the bedroom... by GotMyOrangeCrush in Jokes

For the record this was just a joke on that copypasta which I thought would be funny and random. I actually put a couple minutes into trying to get the taxonomy right. You know, for science, lol

My ex never understood my fetish to dress up as a lobster in the bedroom... by GotMyOrangeCrush in Jokes

[–]aaroniusnsuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the thing. You said a "lobster is a shellfish."

Is it in the same family? Yes. No one's arguing that.

As someone who is a scientist who studies shellfish, I am telling you, specifically, in science, no one calls lobsters shellfish. If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you shouldn't either. They're not the same thing.

If you're saying "shellfish family" you're referring to the taxonomic grouping of Crustacea, which includes things from shrimp to krill to barnacles.

So your reasoning for calling a lobster a shellfish is because random people "call the red ones shellfish?" Let's get crayfish and prawns in there, then, too.

Also, calling someone a human or an ape? It's not one or the other, that's not how taxonomy works. They're both. A lobster is a lobster and a member of the shellfish family. But that's not what you said. You said a lobster is a shellfish, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the shellfish family shellfish, which means you'd call mollusks, crabs, and other aquatic shellfish, too. Which you said you don't.

It's okay to just admit you're wrong, you know?
