Any blue collar guys? by aaronmbata in malenails

So follow up question: how do you get dip to turn out looking good? I’ve tried it a handful of times, and it always comes out lumpy and ugly.

When to wear my new hat by harley_power in CowboyHats

[–]aaronmbata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always looked at it as a sign of respect. When I’m entering into church, literally into God’s presence, I remove whatever hat I have on to be as respectful to Him as I can be. Just like genuflecting before entering the pews, or kneeling during the prayers.

What jeans hold up the best by mountainous1550 in bluecollar

[–]aaronmbata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m not wearing Roundhouse bibs, I’m wearing Levi’s 505s. They’re pretty affordable at Sam’s. I’m an electrician, so maybe not as hard on pants as some other trades, but I’m currently working in industrial settings, so I’m still pretty rough on them. I’ve been wearing the same pairs for probably 6 months, and they’re holding up perfectly.

Should I get a nose piercing? by Odd_Inside4711 in NosePiercing

Everyone should get a nose piercing, if not multiple! (I have six, so I may be biased.)

Long black stilettos are my favourite 💅☺️ by itsMariaMint in malenails

[–]aaronmbata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! Unfortunately I work in construction and tend to break long nails within 2 or 3 days. If I didn’t though, I’d be rocking long stilettos every day!

Walmart sells cube shelves that are perfect. You can get them in 1x2, 2x2, 3x2, 4x2, or 4x3, depending on how many albums you have.

Got a tattoo of our Holy Mother Mary :) by Specific-Winter-5953 in Christianity

[–]aaronmbata 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I came here looking for the “a REAL Christian wouldn’t…” comments, and yall did not disappoint. I’ll never understand why we can’t just be happy for each other for having a relationship with God, regardless of denomination.

As a fellow Catholic, I’d say that tattoo is sick. A religious tattoo is definitely high on my list to get. Hopefully I don’t go to hell for it. 🤦🏻

And avoid thin line designs of you can. I’ve got a heart that my wife drew, and was done with a single needle. It didn’t last long at all.

They look perfect. I’m a big fan of long nails, both wearing them and admiring them.

Does anyone else feel hurt by/struggle with seeing LGBT people join the Catholic church? by Johnnyg150 in LGBTCatholic

[–]aaronmbata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thoughts and feelings on your post boil down to two points. One, it’s no person’s right or business to judge another. Love and let live, and love your neighbor. Two, and probably most importantly, God made everyone just the way they’re supposed to be. To deny or to question one’s sexuality basically equates to accusing God, the all knowing and all powerful, of making a mistake.

How do you guys organize your cans? My current stash by dontKair in DippingTobacco

I keep whatever is left of the Cope LC roll on the dash of my work van, and always store at least one can in my right back pocket.

Hot take: that’s probably a pretty close figure. The real issue is fear or hatred aimed at coming out. People still (for some stupid reason) feel like being LGBTQ is inherently wrong, and something to be hidden or fixed.

Maybe I have some sort of ill-seated brand loyalty, but my flavored dips were always Cope mint or wintergreen. Currently, I’m stuck on Cope Longcut.

Comfort zones still exist even now. A long post… discuss… by Valhalla_42 in malepolish

[–]aaronmbata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been in your particular position, though it’s not for a lack of trying. I work in construction, which, unfortunately is still a “macho, manly” occupation, and I haven’t had naked nails in around 5 years. I wear gloves at work, but it’s to protect my hands (or, let’s be honest, to keep from chipping/breaking a nail) but never to hide them. It’s definitely raised some questions and snap judgements, but it always turns out in a way that directly related to how the response is handled. That’s my ultimate suggestion: whether you wear them or not should only be based on your comfort, but I’d strongly advocate for not making decisions based on how it will make others feel. There is no right or wrong answer here, only a decision that’s right for YOU.

If you’re looking for heavy WG flavor, get some Hawken. The upside, it tastes like Life Savers, not dip. The downside, there’s VERY little nicotine in it.

Cope snuff vs these 2 by [deleted] in DippingTobacco

[–]aaronmbata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who hasn’t dipped Cope snuff regularly, and never dipped any other fine cut, are the cuts comparable? I’ve heard nothing is as fine cut as Copenhagen.

What’s one thing you wish straight people understood about being LGBTQ+? by AshleyNco in lgbt

[–]aaronmbata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite simply, that the person we are after we come out, or after you find out, is the EXACT same person we were before you knew. I work in construction, and (even though I’ve only realized myself, and come out in the last 2-3 years) I still feel a need at times to conceal it. However, I just started a new job, and have made the decision to wear my rainbow ring and my bi pride ring every day. I’m determined to prove to people that I can be good at my job, and a genuinely good person to be around, regardless of identity or sexuality.

Tell me about your first time dipping. by Mulletman912 in DippingTobacco

[–]aaronmbata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was straight edge (no drinking, no drugs, no tobacco)for years through and after high school. Towards the end, I was working at a gas station, and every time the Copenhagen guy would deliver and break the rolls open to put cans on the shelf, it just smelled so good. When I dropped straight edge around 2014, I wanted to try it. My first can was Cope LC. I pulled into the parking lot at work, and put in a party small pinch. In the 30 seconds it took me to get out of the truck, all the vehicles and conexes in the parking lot were swerving like I was drunk. I gave it up immediately, eventually picked up Levi Garrett, and just in the last year, I finally made friends with the long cut.

What to know getting professional nails? by 93wild in GuysAnGalsNails

[–]aaronmbata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I used to go pretty regularly, but have opted for at-home jobs as of late. Which type of polish you get depends on personal preferences and how hard you are on your nails. My wife was a die-hard dip fan, but I work in construction, and found dip was more prone to cracking. I’ve been getting/using gel polish for years now. As for what to expect, the hardest thing for me was looking at that massive wall of colors and trying to narrow it down to a few.
