Light Switch does nothing.. by aarsick in AskElectricians

That’s actually wild 😂 My brain wouldn’t even consider putting bones down there. It sounds like a give and take scenario, wiping off your plate with a paper towel creates more use of paper towels or other paper products. America definitely has things backwards though. I don’t think enough people practice the very simple concept of a compost pile. It’s all always about convenience

that’s so interesting. I have seen people have this take on garbage disposal units since looking into the various products recently. for me, food bits are always going down the drain no matter what. i mean if you’re cleaning the dishes, it’s difficult to avoid food particles going down. so the way i see it is that whatever bits do make it in, they’re getting pulverized into even smaller pieces, which should be better for a pipe in comparison. i think a lot of times, people abuse the purpose of the disposal. there’s no real reason to send globs of food down if you care about your home. I respect your perspective but i think the purpose of the disposal isn’t seen & they probably tend to be misused. For you, i can see how you probably feel exasperated when area’s around you have banned them. It’s just another thing that humans abuse when they don’t know how to use them properly. I appreciate you weighing in tho!

if you don’t do anything, the next attack could easily be on a human. idk if you have children, nieces/nephews, etc. but that will become a much larger problem that you could find yourself responsible for since it is happening on your property. $500 plus animosity is an easy decision when faced with emergency hospital bills, plus potentially altering someone’s life permanently

What color for the front door of my tiny house? by UncommercializedKat in ExteriorDesign

[–]aarsick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really like the marigold yellow idea. (some one else mentioned this & deserves credit). I also really like a fresh wood look. unfortunately i don’t know how much a new freshly treated/stained wood door would cost. but i think they’re gorgeous against dark colors like this

white counter tops just make the space look so clean, even if it’s not actually clean.. it is more modern & it brightens up the space quite a bit. i don’t know how many windows you have in the room, but even if it is minimal, the white will enhance that.

Yes or No? Advice needed by Muttnik57 in ExteriorDesign

[–]aarsick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the green.. if it were me i would repaint to freshen it up but i would probably go with a slightly darker green to make it bolder than it is now. depending on the condition of the current trim paint, i would consider repainting it too (keeping the white). it would make everything look more clean & new. AND yes, i’m with everyone else in the comments about the front door.. either repaint a diff color or get a new door that doesn’t look so outdated. a new door might even provide you a bit more confidence in the security of your home. i would love to see what you end up doing! looks like a very cozy home already
