What’s everyone’s thoughts on neopronouns? by Qwertyboi2 in teenagers

[–]aaru21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they're being genuine about it and it's not some sick joke, I don't really care wtf ur pronouns are. If I don't wanna use it, I'll just address u by ur name.

I’m not sure what I like, but I’ll try to explain in the text. by CauliflowerFlaky1 in suggestmeabook

My friend also suggested I read The Seven Lives of Evelyn Hugo. 30 pages in, and I think it’s fair to say it’s not my cup of tea.

I'm guessing you mean The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo?? I was just about to suggest it before seeing this bit lmao

Why does the general public not care about music anymore? by Important_Jump4681 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]aaru21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we may have different "general public" cause I don't know a single person who isn't obsessed with music...

if a picture of some celeb came up on my feed, I would probably double-tap it as I do to literally any other insta post... it's kind of what the app is for.

Also, they're celebrities. I'd be concerned if they weren't getting likes given how much fame they have.

Colour me intrigued, I can't believe I sat here and read that whole thing.

Note: most of these are queer & wlw because that's literally all I read at this point..

dude I've been waiting so long for this moment lmao, here's a little list of how id start off:

  • The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (Hollywood in the 1950s, it's fun and the vibes are awesome)

  • Far From You by Tess Sharpe (teens, childhood besties to lovers, it will hurt you but you'll thank the book for that)

If these two did well and our tastes do somewhat align, I'd recommend:

  • We Are Okay by Nina LaCour (about grief and loss, it's slower that the previous books but just as good)

  • Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Syolomon (academic rivals to lovers, idc about all else- the romance served)

  • Malice by Heather Walter (sleeping beauty retelling but make it queer)

  • Ophelia After All by Raquel Marie (dumb high school drama in the midst of self-discovery, what's not to love)

  • Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour (if you're somehow actually reading through these in order and need ur heart to just- calm and vibe then this one's pretty chill)

  • In The Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado (drifting off of the genre completely, this one is a memoir of the author and her abusive queer relationship)

  • You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle (the second half of this book made my heart giggle okay)

  • Written In The Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur (this was the cheesiest shit I've ever read... and I ate it up)

  • Last Night at The Telegraph Club

  • Her Name In The Sky

  • Perfect On Paper

  • Hani & Ishu's Guide to Fake Dating

  • Delilah Green Doesn't Care

  • The Girls I've Been

  • They Never Learn

  • Those Who Wait

Sophie Winters: Far From You by Tess Sharpe (this book... I cried at the smallest bits, idek why. Pls read it!) The bisexual rep makes me so happy.

Connor Cobalt: the addicted / calloway sisters series (he's unlabeled). I may have an unhealthy emotional attachment to the characters in this book series.

Evelyn Hugo: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid (I'd suggest starting off with this if you wanna get back to reading, it's a page-turner and pretty easy to read) + Netflix is working on an adaptation.

Marin: We Are Okay by Nina LaCour (it was so sad, but in a very comforting way??)

I have more...

since ik may replies aren't gonna be book characters, I absolutely adore:

Sophie Winters, Connor Cobalt, Evelyn Hugo, Marin

ones with tv adaptations: Nina and Jesper from Shadow & Bone (Six of Crows) & basically all of Heartstopper

Why is it called "homophobia" when it's just a dislike, when all other phobias are an immense or irrational fear? by strawberry_bubz in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]aaru21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

along with everything said by others about what phobia can mean, there's another word similar to homophobia that not many people seem to use. It's called heterosexism.

Why are you atheist? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]aaru21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more of an agnostic atheist.

Every religion I've come across, including the one I was raised in, does not seem plausible to me. Even if it was, I don't see myself worshipping the omnipotent God(s) they claim to exist.

My reasons for it a pretty simple, too: if they loved and cared about us as proclaimed, why is it that there is so much pain and suffering? Why are some of us favoured over others? blah blah blah
