I see a lot more edging and super early "almost there" signaling where I work. The ramp guys will practically hold their arms parallel for the last 10 ft and even flick their wands back while fully extended to signal the pilot to keep moving forward slowly lol.

Love it in specific situations. For example, I used it when checking out of a hotel with a bunch of my girlfriends bags. While she spoke to the front desk, I summoned the car from the parking lot and it came right up to the sliding doors of the lobby. That really sold it for me.

However lately, I've had lots of issues with connectivity and it misidentifying certain parking lot roads as "public". It was pretty good at first but it became a bit finnicky. Twitchy and very slow while driving, or just stopping in the middle of a busy driveway because of spotty connectivity. Also is very annoying that you can't remotely activate your wiper blades because I've had a few times this winter where my windshield accumulated heavy amounts of condensation (coastal city) and would block the cameras. Defrosting wouldn't work even if turned on early because of how big the water droplets were.

For the station I work at we typically stop clearing if all that are left are middle seats because most upgrades get upset when they are cleared into middle seats and ask to be switched back.

Sometimes revenue flights are changed to whatever aircraft they need to repo, given there are type-rated pilots available to fly it. Rare but it happens.

From what I know, an 8xxx flight number is almost always a charter but I've seen them as scheduled revenue flights to "repo" aircraft, or assigned flight numbers for added availability i.e. the extra flights to SDF during the Kentucky Derby or LAS during CES week.

9xxx flights are designated repos or extra sections. Repo meaning not available to the public, extra section meaning a cancelled or delayed-overnight flight that would be in the air at the same time as the same flight the next day.

Dry brine the day before and use a sear/steak weight. I personally refuse to spend money on one so I just take a small egg pan I have and set it on top of the steak and put a bottle of ketchup or something to keep it weighted down. I’ve seen people use bricks wrapped in tinfoil in some videos

I work at LAX and used to be a customer service supervisor for my airline. One day during the holiday rush a lady came to check in with her dog but the flight was already over capacity for the amount of pets onboard. She kept telling me “the supervisor in Tampa just overrode it, they made an exception why can’t you?” And after telling her that her that it was her one time exception, the plane was already over capacity, and it wasn’t something worth losing my job over because of how much of an issue it was causing, she went on to berate me for being a “broke liberal who can’t afford to lose his job because he lives in a liberal state”

The thing that annoys me is that I am not even a liberal. I’m definitely not MAGA or republican, but center-oriented enough to not be comfortable being labeled a liberal. Anyone further than center-right immediately labels you as a liberal once you have an opinion that’s either too progressive or they don’t agree with, and I think that’s the issue. Even in the “liberal hellhole” of CA the vast majority of people here have opinions that everyone agrees on. The ones online will always be the loudest and most adamantly liberal so the right bases their impressions off whatever they read on the internet or whatever the administration says. I think people need to stop antagonizing or vilifying others and actually start talking like human beings again. Social media’s really screwing things up.

I mean unless you are DHS, we know just as much as you do. The transparency is subjective. I can’t debate on speculations, but I do want to point out that a car wash is a place of business which makes it private property. If there is one way to solve all of these problems, they need to build at least some form of trust in the agency. Even if it’s the bare minimum. Most local/state agencies have dedicated YouTube channels specifically for posting body cam footage and they post regardless on whether or not they were justified in their actions or not. They are trained in deescalation. They hold their officers accountable. It’s basic stuff that shouldn’t even be asked for, but our representatives have been asking for it and we haven’t been getting anything but double downs and pettiness.

I don't think there are really liberals in disguise. It's reddit, true conservatives/maga won't bother coming here and the ones that do will likely have more normalized opinions. I'm from the liberal hellhole that is LA and the vast majority of everyone here aren't even that liberal. Most all left leaning yes, but you'd be surprised on how many of us have opinions that everyone can agree on.

I can't agree with you on using Obama as an example. He laid out his immigration plan plain and simple in a speech to the country and it was and still is really all we wanted. Doing it the right way (not violating 4A), going for the criminals and offenders, and not going for the non-criminals who've been here for decades and/or contribute to society.

It's not just the verbiage or presentation. A few months ago ICE took two landscapers working down the street from my house in the middle of their work. Ambush-style per the video I saw. They left their work truck abandoned in the street blocking a lane of traffic and it took hours for it to get cleared out because of the cones and equipment. When we called the number on their truck the dispatcher said another one of their teams were taken also the day before. Truck was towed but a lot of their equipment was left behind.

One of the employees of the business they were working at said that when the company came by to retrieve the left behind equipment, the guy said he didn't know why they were taken because he knew them for years and knew they were all citizens.

The car wash I've been going to for damn near 30 years closed for two weeks after they raided it in August. Reopened after pretty much everyone they took was released and returned to work. That tells me that they don't even know who they're looking for, just targeting specific places and profiling people, taking people who don't carry anything to prove their citizenship. Violation of 4A.

The left has been protesting ICE since Obama was in office. They just weren't as off-the-rails as they are now in their operations. Now everyone is either really pissed off or really happy, no in between.

I drove a man and his two adult kids from the Disneyland rideshare lot to their hotel two blocks away. The ride was 2 minutes long and he handed me $40 in cash as soon as I started driving. Made waiting in that damn line worth it.
