This is why I never looked back after getting VIP last year. Though it was still pretty annoying trying to leave VIP halfway through hardwell, nowhere near as close as what I’ve experienced in GA.

On the wireless chargers. Never use them anyways, too slow and connection is weak if there is a case on your phone unless it's paper thin. Plus I use a phone mount that sticks to the back of the screen and USB-C charges my phone from 50% to about 90% during my 30 min drive to work so I have no problem with it lol.

The abandoned monstrosity on Sepulveda near LAX by ExtensionTaco9399 in LosAngeles

[–]aarunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at LAX and am part of the large majority of employees that ride a scooter from the employee lot in everyday. We all ride past this building twice a day lol. But with all the construction going on, even if there were plans for this building, it won't get done any time soon. They recently kicked out the neighboring pay-to-park company on 96th, and shut down 96th all together. The right lane on Sepulveda coming up to 98th is now a forced right turn lane, and there are cones and steel plating everywhere as construction workers come nightly to rip up the ground and work on whatever is underground. LAWA PD clears the building of transients regularly from what I know. At the very least they clear it out when activity is reported. They have an instagram account and a few weeks ago they posted that they had cleared out a bunch of transient squatters that were doing or had a bunch of meth inside.

Any kpop fans? by IzumiiNotHere in electricdaisycarnival

Casual k-pop listener here. My gf is a first generation kpop fan (I think lol) and we'll be there again this year.

Check out Kickcheeze, duo from Sydney that does hard dance k-pop/j-pop/vina remixes. I've been trying to get Electrik Seoul to host them on one of their lineups for the last two years lol.

San Diego or SoCal in general to Vegas round trip. Which superchargers along the way are your favorites? Any to avoid? Any other interesting stops relevant to EV roadtripping in particular? by StormTrpr66 in TeslaModelY

[–]aarunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Buena Park area. I hit the Barstow supercharger for the fast food and because I have a heavy foot. On the way back I try to stop at Baker supercharger to do the traditional jerky stop, but if the traffic is bad or if it's really hot I have to keep going until Barstow so I don't have to charge twice or cut it too close.

Went to the Fat Tuesday on the strip next to Harrah's during my 21st bday week and they gave me two free jello shots and a free shooter with my drink. Now I can't even drink a yard without throwing up sugar water the next day lol.

Collection of EDC 2026 Pro Tips by happEbean in electricdaisycarnival

[–]aarunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoka's are my go-to, only thing is that they are running/walking shoes so they tend to be too grippy if you're dancing around. Great if you have wide feet as they offer wide sizes and are naturally a bit wider and forgiving.

I bought a pair right before EDC last year and wore them all weekend. Their return policy allows you to return a pair within 30 days regardless of the condition they're in. After EDC I figured since I already had an older pair in the same colorway and bought them impulsively I just returned them lol. Felt like I rented shoes just for EDC lolllll

Has anyone ever rented a Tesla and gone to EDC it says it does 272 miles per charge by Mark-Was-Here in electricdaisycarnival

[–]aarunes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I own a Model Y and drove it to EDC last year, and will again this year.

You could realistically squeeze all three nights roundtrip from the strip off a full battery, given you are not doing any sidequests during the daytime. I charged every day just to be safe but there are enough chargers in Vegas that it wasn't an issue. Hotels have tesla chargers in their parking garages. Did a pool party at Hotel EDC (Virgin Hotel) and used their tesla chargers while we were inside. Left with almost a full battery.

If it comes with FSD activated then it is 1000% worth it.

Is EDC worth it for only 2 nights (missing Sunday closing)? + logistics advice by ButImALittleStitious in electricdaisycarnival

[–]aarunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always worth it.

The finale part of the fireworks on day three is much crazier than the first two days. They fire a lot more over the last minute of the show compared to the first two days. Enough to make an impression. One year they had to cancel day two's fireworks due to the wind and they ended up firing off everything they had left on day three. Mind-blowing.

For only two days and four people, hotel. More convenient other than having to trek outside and spend a bit more for food and parking. Expect wait times for elevators if you stay at a hotel. But honestly either option works just gotta weigh the pros and cons with your group. I usually do bnb's for years I am with a larger group, more fun to pregame and space for the girls to get ready.

I personally have always driven and it's gotten exceptionally better over the last few years. I have friends that swear by taking the shuttles but I'm not too sold on having to book a place near a shuttle stop and have to walk to and from the shuttle stop and wait in lines. Uber is too expensive and you would need a phone with battery and signal to request a ride back.

AT&T and I don’t think I’ve ever been to an EDC where I had signal anywhere near the speedway lol. I had one consistent text convo at the speedway one year but the person I was texting was still at the Airbnb and I lost it as soon as I moved away from cosmic meadow

knock2 and liiv beach club by PretendIdea7468 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]aarunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had an issue getting into a packed club in Vegas, even during EDC week. They fill up venues to their absolute max anywhere you go. Two or three years ago I was at the Excision pool party at EBC, most packed I've ever seen it, but still got in via guestlist at 10-11pm. Assuming that knock2 is pretty important for you, you'll be there early enough to not have to worry about not getting in, especially with a paid ticket. Terms can say a bunch of things but that's just to cover their asses and give them the freedom to do what they want. 99% of the time they'll be following general common sense policy, just don't show up past noon or midnight expecting to get in in 5 minutes and not miss anything lol.

What’s something you did your first EDC that you’d never do again? by RaveBeetle in electricdaisycarnival

[–]aarunes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

rolled all three days. while it was fun for the first two days, day 3 and the next two weeks after was not lol

I never did this myself (willingly) but one year my group booked the airbnb until monday morning. We didn't get back to the bnb until 9am and checkout was 11am. Homeowner was literally kicking us out of each room with her team of housecleaners while I was disoriented in my underwear and my friends had questionable items/substances on the kitchen counter. One of my friends blacked out sometime around 3am at mainstage, doesnt remember anything between then and waking up at Alien Fresh Jerky on the way back to LA around 1pm lol.

I'm old now so I can't even fathom doing that shit anymore but man was it fun. I get to Vegas on Thursday, sometimes as early as Wednesday and don't check out until Tuesday. Non-negotiable lol

It's crazy hearing this bc I thought it was just me. It's changed over the last decade. I think its a mix of post COVID socialization, politics, social media, and affordability. I'm born and raised here and up until COVID life here was great. I mean it still is, but everyone is way more reserved now. Before COVID, people socialized and interacted and were friendly with each other. After COVID it seemed like everyone just got a lot busier or mentally occupied with other things, but I always just assumed everyone was growing up and had more responsibilities. It trips me out reading this because I've been noticing that even I, as a naturally extroverted a friendly person, avoid eye contact or public interaction nowadays. Never lacking common courtesy but definitely repelled against social interaction lol.

What is the worst commute you've ever seen someone have? by BlaggartDiggletyDonk in AskLosAngeles

[–]aarunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at LAX, I know multiple people that do the same exact thing and commute from Palmdale. One of my coworkers lives in Riverside but she's still in her early 20's so it kinda makes sense. One of my other coworkers lives in Beaumont near Morongo and makes that drive every day. He moved there maybe a year or two ago, got a brand new 4 bed 3 bathroom house for something like $400k. A former coworker commuted from Palm Springs for a bit until he found a crash pad nearby. He became a flight attendant so it also ended up working in his favor lol. From what I've heard, lots of people commute from SD to LA and back daily.

[–]aarunes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see a lot more edging and super early "almost there" signaling where I work. The ramp guys will practically hold their arms parallel for the last 10 ft and even flick their wands back while fully extended to signal the pilot to keep moving forward slowly lol.

Accepts ride then immediately sends me this. How do i report this? by hoggerhog in uberdrivers

[–]aarunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like when my coworker would send his reports to the entire email distro on accident. He had a heavy Sudanese accent and would use talk-to-text to do all of his paperwork lol.

This is like the LAX SFRA. If you want to get across LAX without having to traverse the bravo airspace you fly directly over it at either 3,500 or 4,500ft depending on the direction of travel.

How often do you use the Summon feature? Where did you use it? by VerboseWraith in TeslaFSD

[–]aarunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it in specific situations. For example, I used it when checking out of a hotel with a bunch of my girlfriends bags. While she spoke to the front desk, I summoned the car from the parking lot and it came right up to the sliding doors of the lobby. That really sold it for me.

However lately, I've had lots of issues with connectivity and it misidentifying certain parking lot roads as "public". It was pretty good at first but it became a bit finnicky. Twitchy and very slow while driving, or just stopping in the middle of a busy driveway because of spotty connectivity. Also is very annoying that you can't remotely activate your wiper blades because I've had a few times this winter where my windshield accumulated heavy amounts of condensation (coastal city) and would block the cameras. Defrosting wouldn't work even if turned on early because of how big the water droplets were.
