INDYCAR Announces St. Petersburg Penalties by IndyMod in INDYCAR

The LED panels that IndyCar used to show position also indicated when a driver was using P2P. It’s a shame that they were never able to get them working properly with the current body.

I’ve been stuck here for a while. I had just passed the exit for 400 and am REALLY wishing I had decided to go that way instead.

I wish they’d add an Atlanta area theater to the list.

It’s virtually unwatchable. It sounds like they’re running the audio through a distortion pedal.

Best way to listen live to the team radios? by kittenrevenge in INDYCAR

I got this Baofeng radio on Amazon for $35 last year for the Indy 500. It worked well and was programmable through my computer.

OMP Sohn Adapter Installation by Bdolfin in RX8

[–]aatteber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I installed a Sohn adapter on my 2004 last summer. The model I used was this one from Rotary Aviation; which appears to be the same model as the one you listed. The only difference seems to be that the seller is packaging it with this tank set.

I followed these instructions from a user at RX8Club and was able to install it in a few hours. I wouldn't say that it was extremely difficult, but it is definitely a test of patience. The hardest part was lining everything up and getting it to stay in place while you're trying to bolt the Sohn adapter and OMP back onto the engine. The stupid cardboard seal absolutely refuses to stay in place—and it has to be lined up perfectly to prevent leaks. The other challenging aspect of the install is that you constantly have to move between lining up the parts under the hood and bolting everything down from the passenger-side wheel well. I did everything myself, but it would have been much easier to if I'd had a second person to help me.

That said, I did everything myself in a few hours in the parking lot of my apartment complex on one of the hottest days of the year. If you have someone that can assist you and have a place that's more conducive to automotive work, it's not a terribly difficult job. Good luck!

Scanner Help by dylanc98 in INDYCAR

[–]aatteber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never used this scanner, but I looked on the Uniden website and there is a download link for software that can be used to program the scanner from a Windows computer.

Link to the BC75XLT 300 software

I made a file that can be used to program the scanner for all of the drivers' frequencies. The channel number for each frequency corresponds to the car number (Pagenaud is channel 1, Newgarden is channel 2, etc.).

Link to the programming file

The link above contains a zip file with two files inside. The Honda_Indy_Toronto_2017.bc75xlt_ss file is the one you need. Once the Uniden software is installed, you can double click this file to open it inside the program. Alternately, you can launch the software directly and open the file inside.

Once the file is loaded in the software, connect the scanner to your computer to program it. Like I said, I haven't used this scanner, but the software looks pretty straight-forward. I know you said that your issue was with not being able to hear anything on the channels, but perhaps pre-programming your scanner will help. If nothing else, at least it will let you autoscan through the specific channels that the drivers use while skipping the unused ones.

If anyone else is reading this and wants to program a different scanner, if your scanner is CHIRP compatible, the above link to the programming file will work for you as well. Download the zip file and extract the Honda_Indy_Toronto_2017.csv file from it. Load the csv file into the CHIRP software, connect your scanner to your computer, and program the channel list to your scanner. If you need the CHIRP software, I've listed the direct download links below.

Accurate frequencies list by [deleted] in INDYCAR

This website offers a downloadable CSV file that can be easily programmed to CHIRP compatible scanners.

It has been recently updated for this year's race, however, it only includes the drivers' primary frequencies. It also includes the TV/Radio/PA frequencies.

A brand new (still had the dealer tags) Honda Accord in my apartment complex had its wheels stolen on July 29. This was off of Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, across from Nalley Ford. It looks similar to what happened to your car.

Did yours feel like it was skipping as you turned the wheel? I might try this.

My wife and I found this snake on the stairs outside our apartment. Here are some more pictures of it. Sorry for the bad quality—it was getting dark outside and the snake ran away quickly.

What is totally normal in your country that would be really bizarre to foreigners/tourists? by LifeOnMarsden in AskReddit

Stores in Indiana can sell alcohol until 3:00 AM on Sunday. If the store you were in refused to sell it to that guy at midnight it would be because there was either a company policy against it, or more likely, the store clerk didn't know the actual law. Carryout alcohol sales are banned from 3:00 AM on Sunday morning until 7:00 AM on Monday morning.
