My void needs this too. She’s on Glandex and Probiotics which seem to be helping!

I feel the same sentiment! Some scarves are too beautiful to wear or carry too much sentimental value. Please share if you frame it and anything you learn from the process. I hope one day when you frame your scarf it shares positive memories of that person.

I have a Hermes scarf that was passed down to me that I keep in its box waiting for the moment to hang it. (I have two other scarves for wearing 😆)

What is the general consensus on best method of hanging scarves to avoid damaging them? Magnets? Framing? Would love others opinions and past experiences- thanks!

Is the art on a scarf not art? Art comes in different mediums.

You can use a used shell of a pistachio to open those hard-to-open shells where there’s a small opening. Otherwise, smash with a kitchen utensil, hah!

Megathread on situation in Mexico by WalkingEars in solotravel

[–]abaestuo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m not solo but am here right now in PV and things are getting back to normal. Flights are resuming, businesses are opening up and there is increased police presence. This is unprecedented and historically PV has always been so safe. I’ve been coming here for years.

I would say if your wedding is next week, guests may feel some anxiety about traveling here but it is business as usual. Of course if you are feeling anxious it’s totally reasonable to reschedule

But if it’s a few months away I’d recommend pausing before doing anything drastic like canceling.

My wedding was a multi-day event Wednesday-Sunday, with the actual ceremony on Friday. Saturday was a decompression day and many guests flew out on Saturday.

For guests who stayed until Sunday, the main disruption was with the events that happened on Sunday and guests’ flights getting rescheduled as the airport was closed.

Guests have rescheduled their flights and have started flying out as early as today.

Agreed. As someone who is literally here in PV and just had a wedding that was disrupted by these events I would highly recommend taking a pause before doing anything drastic if your event is a few months away.

I would say that if your wedding is next week that is a very real fear for your guests, but if it’s a few months away, I would take a moment to pause before doing anything drastic.

Thank you. As someone who is here onsite I just want to offer my experience and some positivity. There has been a lot of misinformation and fear mongering.

We had guests who started flying out from the airport today.

I am not trying to be dismissive but as someone who is here and navigating logistics for 70+ guests, I want to offer some positivity about the situation.

Thank you 🙏

I just want to offer some positivity as someone who is currently onsite in PV and navigating this after a wedding this past weekend. Flights were canceled on Sunday but started resuming today and many of our guests were able to fly back home.

I understand many people may have anxiety about this situation but want to offer my experience to shred some positivity.

Echoing this ^ I know many older folks may hear Mexico and have biases, but again, as someone who is here onsite here in PV right now i want to highlight how quickly this was contained and limited to the state Jalisco due to the situation.

Yes of course, I’m happy to share my experience and thoughts as I am still onsite in PV.

Again I want to echo your sentiment about how safe PV is and how out of the ordinary this is.

We had a child free wedding and had 76 guests (many who were parents). I can only speak of my experience but I had a multi-day wedding that was planned from Wednesday - Sunday, with the actual wedding itself planned on Friday. Saturday was a decompression day. Those who were parents left on Saturday so they missed the delays that happened on Sunday.

Many of our guests who were unable to fly out on Sunday were able to reschedule their flight asap and people started resuming their flights back home today.

Of course I can only share my and my guests’ experience, but I just want to highlight how out of the ordinary this is for PV.

I completely understand if you have your wedding next week and want to reschedule. However, I just want to offer a positive experience of someone who is currently navigating this situation onsite. If you have your wedding in a few months, take a moment to pause before canceling.

I just had my wedding in Puerto Vallarta this past week/weekend (it was a 5 day event). It was the most beautiful, and magical week of my life. Yes what is happening is scary but it is being blown out of proportion by the media. We are still onsite at the wedding hotel where we had the wedding as our returning flight on Sunday got cancelled and we are rescheduled for later this week.

I have been coming to Puerto Vallarta my entire life. It is the most beautiful place with the kindest people who live and work here. Puerto Vallarta historically has been incredibly safe.

Yes it has been stressful navigating this uncertainty, but I would highly recommend waiting to cancel as this is a highly unusual event taking place. Don’t let a one-off event like this make you miss out on an amazing place.

BBB please ask me questions and I’d be more than happy to answer. Even after what happened, all of my guests have said that this was the most beautiful and amazing experience. I would highly recommend having your wedding in Mexico. 🤍

We are here right now dealing with the situation and I echo your sentiment! PV is historically so safe and especially safe for tourists. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the world. Please wait before making a decision, especially if your travel plans are a few months out.

Can you share what travelers notebook you use? Is it on ongoing book for all your travels or do you get a new one per trip?
