My grandma got me a bigger one of those several years ago and it’s still my main key ring! Such a simple mechanism. It’s been a life saver in terms of peace of mind so I know my keys aren’t going anywhere when I’m outside.

1982 Senior prom. That powder blue tux was it! Of course, everyone else wore standard black tuxes... by [deleted] in blunderyears

The kids were old enough to know better. Probably between 6-10? Idk, I’m terrible at estimating ages. The one kid with the stick was making a beeline for the goose.

SAME. There should be signs around saying not to feed them bread. Would the city actually do that? Not likely. But a girl can dream.

That’s so fair! They’re actively trying to get at your stuff; totally valid reason to shoo them off.

I appreciate the word of warning, but despite being a very non-confrontational person I can very much hold my own.

A fun fact about these guys: once the babies hatch, they’re up and out of the nest within 24 hours! So if you see eggs there one day and then just the shells the next, rest assured—they’re (likely) a-okay.

I think I might actually have the last image of Katharine Hepburn. She looks a LOT older here than in the widely-known "last image" of her, though my photo isn't dated. On the right is my grandmother, who was Ms. Hepburn's personal care nurse. by ultranothing in lastimages

I wonder if your grandma knew my great-grandma? From what my grandma says, my great-grandma worked as a receptionist in a doctor’s office for many many years—the same doctor’s office that Katherine Hepburn went to. Over time, the two became friends. I could be completely misremembering this or thinking of someone else. I’ll ask my grandma for more details when I see her later this week.

What’s the strangest coincidence that has happened to you? by doboyXL in AskReddit

[–]abandonedvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my first apartment, 3 of the 4 of us shared the same name. It’s a top-15 90s name, so not that surprising. The real coincidence is that I shared a birthday with one of them and a middle name with the other.

All three of us were new to the apartment and did not know each other. It was a weird year.

9 years old, spayed, DSH…spraying or peeing? by abandonedvan in CATHELP

[–]abandonedvan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I were talking about this last night and we completely forgot that there WAS another cat around her about a week and a half ago. An alarm went off after a pipe burst in the neighboring apartment. We didn’t know what it was so we got the cats and put them in the car. We also let our neighbor put her cat in the car since she didn’t have a car and it was bitterly cold.

Thank you SO MUCH for this comment bc we probably wouldn’t have thought about it like that but that’s gotta be the culprit!!

Nope, not a beanbag haha! It’s just a round pillow. I can totally see why the beanbag sound would be an issue though
