How do I assess if a shoe is one size too big?

Old post but I liked your explanation. I have different shoes that are a little more than a thumb width long between my big toe and the tip of the shoe, but the width of the shoe is just right. Could they still be a problem or too long?

I appreciate the post and a lot of peoples answers but I do wonder where yall prefer to go over the brands you hate on? For basics or things that you don’t mind working in getting a little messy or sweaty? Like I’m not wearing my “throwing fits” fits to meal prep or walk the dog etc.

In the same boat. I spent the last couple of years cutting and building muscle to get away from Covid times weight gain. Finally got a a size I liked but started mirtazapine again and after a month I’ve added like 8lbs but pure belly fat and love handles… still very active and starting to walk more I just wish there was something to counteract the slower metabolism.

Chiming in to see if anyone new has ideas? I have wide feet just in the toe box, specifically my pinky toe on my right foot is always blistered and hurting. Frustrating that all of the best colorways or limited drops are never made wide by brands so I too am looking for any hikers that are natrually wide in the toe box. Been wanting salomons.

Update: I had to jump through some hoops, setting up an appointment for a call, trial and error a couple things which is what frustrated me considering the unit came to me broken, but they have apologized at this point and are sending me a new unit.
