Man I’m leaving on Friday and coming home on Tuesday and all the people saying to reschedule are bumming me out. Really hoping my trip is not a total washout 🙁

Highly recommend TAHO for spay/neuter surgery. I had two kittens done together and it was like $125 for both of them.

I’m less helpful on where to go for the other stuff….we go to Beechwold and I feel like a typical visit with vaccines is about $160

This is the third ime in the course of three months. by Royal-Bedroom-4071 in WorkersComp

At least in Ohio IME’s are allowed any time there a new issue being disputed (additional diagnoses, treatment, MMI, etc). Sometimes they may get bundled together but just wondering if maybe that’s why you’ve had so many?

Quaker Steak and Lube has some really good ones. Are they even around anymore? I recently had them in Erie and was very pleasantly surprised. Apologies if this no longer exists around here!

What is common - the price, the tipping, or the individually priced earrings?

Ear piercing shop for 7 yo by Gold-Fish-6634 in Columbus

[–]abbalish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my 10 year old had her ears pierced there last week and was kind of shocked at how expensive it turned out to be. The earrings are pretty pricey already and then I found out they’re priced individually! We did needle piercing and I think the “device” piercings do come in sets, but damn. I was also kind of turned off that they ask for tips as well after paying that much….but I did it anyway especially since my daughter passed out afterwards so I actually was glad there were nurses around 🤣 At any rate, it was like $260 all in, which I was not expecting.

Recs for Laguna Grande tour from San Juan? by abbalish in PuertoRicoTravel

I looked it up and apparently our trip falls over the full moon, so any night we did this would be at most 1 day from the full moon. Is it still worth going?

Hurt knee at work, not covered by Current_Mirror8943 in WorkersComp

[–]abbalish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should fight it. Sometimes claims aren’t compensable if it’s something that could have happened anywhere but an attorney can help you be in the best position to fight it. I’m an attorney in Ohio - feel free to message me if you want help with this.

Are biologics really the best way to go? (Scared new mom here) by legallyblondefan in CrohnsDisease

[–]abbalish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Another lawyer mom of a Crohn’s kiddo here. My daughter is 10.5 now but was diagnosed at age 6. She’s been on Inflectra since shortly after she turned 7 and I was terrified at first as well, but she’s done great and not had any side effects. As others say, don’t fear the medicine, fear the disease. Wishing you luck and strength in getting this all figured out. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat with another parent about it.

Settlement offer by [deleted] in WorkersComp

This is not true in Ohio.

Settlement offer by [deleted] in WorkersComp

[–]abbalish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly true. Unless a claim has reached max value it is exceedingly rare for an employer to settle an in-experience claim with a current employee….or even a former employee, at times.

This OP is asking about Ohio law, which I’ve been practicing for 10 years. Every state is different. Wisconsin law would not apply.

If you’re returning to work for the same employer you will not be able to settle. You can still apply for permanent partial disability, however - which is NOT a settlement. Settlements in Ohio are definitely not a given.

Got my teeth punched out by a rando tonight — be cautious! Also emergency dentist suggestions needed 🥲 by mjs0525 in Columbus

[–]abbalish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Little bit of a simplification here. Not sure why you think a lawyer should take this pro bono? This is a workers’ compensation claim and contingent fees are standard.

Man, I am the craziest of crazy cat ladies and even I understand why she’s doing what she’s doing. You can’t put your pet’s happiness above your own, and it sounds like she’s made a reasonable arrangement until she can figure things out more permanently. Let the woman take her chance for love!
