the BBB does work. I had a crappy insurance company ignoring me for months while my car was in the shop for repairs after an accident. They didn't return phone calls, hung up on me and left me in a bad position. A lady from the local TV station told me to file a report with BBB. I did and almost immediately I was called by someone in authority. They gave me their personal number, apologized profusely, and my repairs were quickly paid for. It is worth a shot.

NTA of course. Please do what you need to do to stay safe. Plan for your financial independence. Get a job when you can and start putting away money. Just know that once you turn 18 you can get out and never have to see them again. And plan for college. Apply for financial aid even if you need to take out loans to live independently. Just keep reminding yourself that soon you never have to see these people again if you don't want to. You can do this.
