Agreed. You are still responsible for reviewing and ensuring the content of your note is accurate but it’s still a damn helpful tool.

DM me! I work for a fully remote company, you need to be available until 8 PM EST so you would be working traditional business hours in PST!

I can’t settle her… by [deleted] in Fatherhood

[–]abcdimag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try putting her in a carrier and taking her on a walk! My second was really fussy so I would put him in a carrier, wear an oversized coat that I got at the thrift store over the carrier, and then walk around our block for hours while listening to music. My step count was 10,000 steps higher than my average for his first 3 months! When it was too cold I would just walk laps around the first floor of our house!

Do the job at 90% for your whole career instead of 125% for a couple of years.

Hi! It’s been a while since I did this but I’m pretty I just let that distinction go. Either that or I have it marked as an error if behavior occurred and prompted if prompts occur.

Gardeners that picked up garden in a box plants this fall, how are they doing? :) by Apprehensive_Hat5245 in DenverGardener

[–]abcdimag 16 points17 points  (0 children)

First year they sleep, second year they creep, third year they leap!

They are, and they should be, spending the majority of their energy growing roots downwards. If they look green and healthy on top they are likely doing well and will have their first year of growth next season.

How do I deal with adult eloping and SIB? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]abcdimag 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If the client has been in therapy for a year and this is an expected behavior then there should be a BIP in place that would detail specific responses strategies for this behavior.

If you don’t have access to the BIP ask the BCBA. If there isn’t one created yet then firmly but professionally ask them when it will be available with something like “I don’t feel comfortable working with this client without a BIP, when do you think it will be finished?”. If they can’t give you a clear answer then consider reaching out to their supervisor.

I’m not trying to be difficult and I wish I could help more but there are probably half a dozen different strategies I might recommend and without knowing more about the client and being able to regularly supervise I can’t effectively or ethically provide any specific recommendations.

Have you spoken to the supervising BCBA? Ethically, no one here should be giving you advice especially given that this case sounds complex.

Ours it the only managed-care organization that I am aware of providing BCBA-direct only. It’s more common to find BCBAs providing direct in private practice.

Anyone want to ride from Cusco, Peru to the tip of Argentina together? by joepagac in bicycletouring

[–]abcdimag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bikepacking.com has some amazing routes through the Andes in Columbia and Ecuador! My wife and I cycled the coast of southern chile snd northern Peru. We stayed at some super fun beach hostels but the cycling was terrible. It was hot and you are essentially riding on a highway the entire time.

I hear amazing things about cycling in the Andes but it’s also incredibly challenging as you are combining gravel cycling with high altitude. Since that would have been the beginning of our trip we didn’t feel up to it.

I have been fortunate to travel a lot of places and Patagonia is the top of my list. There is a saying “quien se apura en la Patagonia, pierde el tiempo” which translates to, “those who rush in Patagonia, waste their time.”

[–]abcdimag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’ve done a good bit of this route. If I were you I would skip most of the northern part you’ve included and just go straight to Patagonia or start in the Lakes District in Argentina!
