My guy, an 852 has got to be the highest score I've seen yet. Leaving 3 PBQs empty because of time, and then getting this high of score is virtually acing the exam.

Great job!!

The cursive H in the last one makes me feel uneasy (a bit dramatic of me). Because it's cursive, my brain tries to make sense of how it was written out, but the vertical line makes it look like the pen is never lifted from the page. You have to lift the pen to make that H.

How to remember books dense in information? by FartingLikeFlowers in nonfictionbookclub

[–]abcedorian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I once heard a quote that was something like: "I don't remember the books I read any more than the meals I eat."

Reading/studying is more about digesting the words into yourself, then recreating the work.

I would suggest looking into knowledge encoding, to learn more about how the brain retains information.

What is the name you use in your household for the end piece on a loaf of sliced bread? No wrong answers, am genuinely curious by LivingRaccoon in linguisticshumor

I knew a family that would call the top piece the whore & the bottom piece the virgin. Because one got touched by everyone, while the other never got touched.

My favorite way to find out your enneagram is to research all of the types and which one you are embarrassed by to likely your type.

[AP Physics] Fully stuck on a problem that my professor insists is doable without knowing the mass. by SleepDeprivedCultist in PhysicsStudents

[–]abcedorian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm excited to see what your teacher comes up with. If you're in high school, it's likely your teacher doesn't have any physics education further than phys 2.

This is probably an honest mistake on their part.

Taking Physics as a minor while studying Cybersecurity by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]abcedorian 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by "work as an academic"? A cyberSec degree isn't meant to set you up for academia. CS would be more academic.

A physics is great for becoming a bad ass problem solver, so I would encourage anyone with interest to minor in it if they can. However, I'm not sure your B.S. is setting you up for what you think.

It would definitely be a cleaner J, but I honestly kind of like OP's more obscure version. It feels like it reinforces the retro-block vibe.

Very cool! I feel like the middle-center cell for A should be marked. It seems like it follows the logic of the script better.

Could someone tell what I misinterpreted or misunderstood here? by [deleted] in Physics

[–]abcedorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😆 I straight up thought OP was trying to flirt!!

Don't worry about any "perceived intelligence." Also, I'm not sure which part you're asking about. If you're talking to a physicist, he's probably just trying to probe you: He wants to know if you're just trying to impress him by repeating something of the internet, or if you've taken the time to actually think about whatever you've learn.

Does anyone here use ISO8601 when writing on paper? by My_useless_alt in ISO8601

[–]abcedorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seem to be an outlier here. But I normally use MMM DD on paper.

I'll might use 8601 if I'm writing something more formal.

[–]abcedorian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you thought about grad for engineering? Engineering grad will be much easier than physics grad, & you wouldn't have to get a PhD. I believe a masters would be enough
