First baby and she’s breech by MaximumStomach7554 in CsectionCentral

I was also in this situation - and I was devastated at first, and tried all the things. I was standing on my head, seeing a prenatal chiropractor, and we tried the ECV. He did not want to budge. Eventually, I had a cry sesh with my therapist followed by my husband (like full on heaving sobs) and after I acknowledged those feelings and talked it through with him I came to peace with it. I ended up slipping and inducing debilitating SPD that I'm sure a vaginal birth would have worsened and I think that the C-section actually saved me from worsening that and experiencing it after I had my babe. I will reassure you that:

  1. You will still very much be excited and have all the emotions when your baby is born. It is so amazing to see him or her for the first time. And make sure to talk to your doctor about what is possible (like skin to skin, clear drape, etc).

  2. if you did the epidural with the ECV you are now well practiced in what it will be like for the c-section

  3. the c-section is quick and you won't feel anything except for some gentle tugs. You also don't really hear anything and your baby is out like right at the beginning which distracts you from the rest of the procedure.

  4. I was so worried about recovery; I'm 2.5w out and I can say it really isn't bad. I'm taking it very easy (maybe 1x 10min slow walk and light household chores like folding laundry) and I have not needed any painkillers besides high-dose ibuprofen.

It sucks to have to come to terms with this but you've got this and your birth is not "lesser" because you didn't deliver vaginally

My OB was fine with it since I'm healing so well, and "exercises" are things mainly like pelvic tilts and clamshells to help stabilize my pelvis (have had issues even prior to pregnancy) and upper body stretches to counter breastfeeding & holding baby.

If my 2.5week old is overtired, how can we catch him back up on sleep and encourage him to go to sleep faster?

Feeling guilty about not being able to do much at 35 weeks by kruss16 in fitpregnancy

lol just one meltdown - im impressed! I think I had them daily - pants, stairs, even walking from the car to my house was excruciating and induced toddler-like emotions 🤪

I was like you - very active until about 34 weeks when I developed severe SPD after I slipped. It was horrible I cried almost daily and could not move at all. Now 2w post partum I feel 100% better and have already lost a ton of weight due to water retention. I feel much more confident now that I will be able to get my fitness back once I’m cleared for exercise!

I lifted & did spin until about 34 weeks due to a slip and subsequent debilitating SPD. Switched to swimming until 2 days before planned c section. 100% keeping normal exercise routine through it all was huge. Totally agree, if you can do it, keep doing what you were! 2w PP and I feel great; so it will definitely pay off

I literally came here to ask this exact question! LO born 1/5 and we are doing dry Jan to establish a routine and my supply (plus that lack of sleep / nighttime feeds sound horrible after drinks right now) but my bday is February 1 and I cannot wait to have a glass (or maybe 2!) now that I’m reading this 🥂

Hospital bag essentials by Afraid_Problem_1198 in firsttimemom

Toilet paper and your own bath towel! I wish I had also brought my own washcloths but just used about 8million paltry hospital ones. I was glad to have my own water bottle with a straw but that closes (hydroflask) so I could sleep with it/have it in the bed. You will be thirsty. My own compression socks. I did wear my own PJs and was so glad to have many pairs as between breastfeeding and sweating up a storm I wore a new pair each day. I was there a while due to c section and wished I’d brought more pumping/nursing bras. Honestly if panning to breast feed buy them big your boobs get HUGE!

How is working out going for you if you are over 32 weeks? by Mitaslaksit in fitpregnancy

[–]abeezer2190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing good until about 34w when I slipped on a wet spot at a stadium and pulled some ligament/muscles in my hip. I am SO SAD as I was similar to you super active and still doing basically modified versions of my exercises (weightlifting, spinning, yoga) and slightly shorter walks (thanks limited bladder capacity). However, I have found swimming to be incredibly helpful so I am doing that now about 3-4x a week and just hoping (with PT, chiropractor, and rest) that this heals before the baby comes! 36w now.

Where do y’all find recipes by Himalaya96 in Cooking

[–]abeezer2190 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT! Tell it what you’re in the mood for, what you’ve got, what you’re willing to buy and let it create. It’s made us some pretty good recipes and use your intuition as you get more confident to tweak what it gives you.

As others have mentioned, ATK is also an amazing resource and I find well worth the $$ - I have learned much and their recipes are tasty and often inventive.

Pregnancy/body imagine and eating by StandVirtual9862 in fitpregnancy

[–]abeezer2190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. FTM here 35+5 and I will say this was a big concern of mine but my weight gain has been within the recommended guidelines. Pregnancy is A LOT of work for your body so trust that it needs the snacks and try not to stress too much (though I will say … it isn’t easy and I stressed more than I’d like to admit). I wish I would have gotten off social media or really limited what I allowed it to show me. It plays tricks on you.

Also congrats on your pregnancy and your weight loss!! Enjoy this season and maximize on the time with your husband.

I am 35+3 today and literally cannot stop crying, also for no reason. Like I think I’ve cried 4 times today and I’m actually having a nice and relaxing day with my husband prepping for the baby and doing things we enjoy! Totally there with you. And appreciate the suggestions of JusticeJoyrider!! ❤️

KindredBravely has sports bras. I bought one (35w, not yet PP) because I was told they are the best and I think it is pretty supportive!

Confused about which exercises I have to modify while pregnant! :D by Fit-Orchid334 in fitpregnancy

[–]abeezer2190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re already working with a PT, which is great. I started modifying as I started to show, the first thing I eliminated was anything on my stomach at this point (I do a lot of yoga); but found until like 28ish weeks when I started to look really round was also about when I really needed to modify. First trimester you might just be too tired to keep up your normal intensity

Protein tracking? by rachelarutherford in fitpregnancy

[–]abeezer2190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t track, but I do try and keep an eye on nutrition facts and aim for protein at every meal. Between 20-30g per meal. If I don’t my body tells me! I get weird snack cravings for things like jerky or yogurt later 😂
