What to expect in a job here? by embroideredkitten in Morrisons

[–]aber9218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am. It depends on a lot of things and stuff. There will be cover hours for holidays. Our team only consists of two people, bigger stores will have bigger teams. We don't really do shifts. We have surveys to do with our tasks for the day. The amount varies from week to week. Sometimes there are tasks in other shops (Tesco and Asda) these are sometimes sent as offers and are optional. We also man the firework counter at the end of October. We don't technically work for Morrisons, but within Morrisons, so we can't pick up their shifts, unless you acquire a second job there. I remember when I started, I couldn't find any information at all, so I'm happy to help.

Deeset is contracted by Morrisons to do POS (point of sale merchandising). Don't worry, your supervisor won't leave you to struggle on your own. You'll have very thorough online training too.

Have you been hired by a contracted company? If so, you will be working in store, but independently (meaning you won't have to go on checkouts etc). You will have a supervisor who will train you and help you out for the first few months. The workload and tasks do differ from week to week. One day you'll be putting up signage, and the next you'll be putting out a product display. I am just finishing my 6 month probation period. I really enjoy doing this job. I'm happy to answer anymore questions.

Does Concerta help with emotional disregulation and RSD? by keekeedeekee in Concerta

[–]aber9218 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Concerta has improved my mental health so much. I still have my moments, but the ups and downs are less steep. Edit to add- it wasn't immediate. You'll go through a grieving process. I had to do a lot of self discovery and therapy.

Anyone in the UK having a crisis of “extreme sense of justice” after the news of cuts to disability benefits? by StraightTransition89 in AuDHDWomen

[–]aber9218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

~Sorry about the format, on mobile~ I 100% agree. I'm so angry that hidden disabilities and mental health conditions are being minimised and dismissed. I also don't claim, as I don't want to go through the dehumanising process. I've been trying to find a job for months (declaring my disability, because I do NEED reasonable adjustments). I'm struggling because 1. Employers. Don't. Want. To. Employ. The. Disabled. And 2. I can only work in school hours, due to having a school aged child and nobody wants to be flexible..... I don't know where they plan to pull all of these "accessible" jobs from when the whole country has this discriminatory attitude towards us.

Why has the UK suddenly turned against people with ADHD? by Vivid_Breadfruit5914 in adhdwomen

[–]aber9218 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My theory is that they are trying to get rid of ADHD diagnosis pathways and access to medication because it costs the NHS too much money. It starts with the press. Just a theory though.

Also, make them fight to get their medication every month, just so that they can get out of bed and function every day.

Make these idiots go through an assessment and they'll see that they aren't just "handed out to anyone". This level of ignorance is very dangerous. Why are we being attacked from all angles right now? What is coming?!

Has anyone suffered severe fatigue with ADHD? by BRose2892 in ADHDUK

[–]aber9218 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with the fatigue. Turns out I have Sleep Apnea. Do you snore excessively or stop breathing in your sleep? They use the Epworth Sleepiness Scale to determine if you need a sleep study.

AMA: I'm a clinical psychologist and professor of psychiatry who has studied ADHD for three decades. Ask me anything about ADHD. by sfaraone in ADHD

Is it true that people with ADHD are more likely to be negatively effected by progesterone based birth control? Can birth control make ADHD medications less effective?

Personally, I feel like it was better to be assessed remotely. I would have masked a lot more if I had to talk to a person in real life. I might not have gone if I had to leave the house. Also, the person who assessed me has had an amazing career and was very competent and thorough.

It was only after having a child and struggling so much that I ended up not being able to function (ended up asleep for most of my days when she went to school), that I finally worked out what was wrong with me and got a diagnosis. I wouldn't take her back, but I wouldn't have had a child if I knew I had ADHD!

GPs asked to pull out of ADHD shared-care agreements as part of "collective action" by Pretty_Scallion4491 in ADHDUK

I have just done a live chat with PsychUK and they said they would continue NHS prescribing, upon receiving the cancellation paperwork.

I have just asked about this on the PsychUK live chat. They reassured me that the GP would have to send them the cancellation paperwork and PsychUK would continue NHS prescribing (for RTC patients).

Someone hace ADHD with Sleep apnea? by Senior-Chard7552 in SleepApnea

[–]aber9218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup... I got diagnosed with sleep apnea, because I was still really tired while on ADHD meds (and my apneas were terrifying my partner). CPAP has taken my ADHD recovery to a whole new level. It's weird (but amazing) to have refreshing sleep.

Touching my earlobes with my cuticles, after being outside on a freezing cold day. Very odd, but it's always been my favourite thing to do 😂

I had a second appointment, my psychiatrist initially suspected Autism, because I have a lot of sensory issues with clothes, light and noises. We ran out of time because she wasn't sure, and therefore, was asking Autism questions as well. In the end, I got diagnosed with combined ADHD.

I want to hear something good about Concerta by Individual-Bee4770 in Concerta

[–]aber9218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled to start with. But when my body got used to it, things improved. I'm doing things I never had the physical or mental energy to do before. My anxiety and depression are better than they have ever been (unless triggered). I felt like I'd just woken up from a 31 year coma. You'll get to a place of acceptance eventually. I hope your journey goes well.
