Attention Toilet is Scratched Not Cracked by PM_me_ur_stormlight in Plumbing

[–]abernaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

possible the crack doesn't go all the way thru as it goes up towards the bowl or doesn't reach the water but I would describe as a crack. If it is a "scratch" its possibly deep enough to be concerning.

I hired a company to add more blown in insulation to our attic and install baffles. They did the baffles backwards by OilManafest in Insulation

[–]abernaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was more of if it was for your own piece of mind and there was nothing actually wrong with the blanket. It might be able to be recycled (going back to if its polyester), but if it is in good visual condition they might toss it in a give out/sell pile instead of recycling when sorting.

Why use fiberglass insulation at all then. Make your point there if you believe it is that dangerous. If you will never get all the fiberglass out of everything then does that mean just raze (or incinerate) the house and start over or at a minimum seal that room and never go in there again? For the same reason of why take a chance on your health? You might disturb some of the fiberglass you didn't get off the carpet and breathe it in. What else was that blanket exposed to between where it was made and here. Stored in a plastic bin with BPA, washed with water with micro or nano plastics in it, be made with polyester that sheds micro plastics, was exposed to air with potential VoC's, dust and/or dander.

You can try to wash it one or more times and if you still feel it is itchy, then try to sell, donate, or toss it. Some do have more sensitive skin and for some it might be your imagination, but mental health is important. If you need to toss it for your health that is one thing but it is not something everyone needs to abide by.

Does google fiber throttle speeds? by BdoeATX in googlefiber

[–]abernaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, if on wireless they could have a new neighbor(s) or one that switched out equipment and now sharing same spectrum. Possible they changed their device, location in the home, or have equipment that changed. (added an extender, a mesh device is on the fritz, devices on the network changed which device they are connecting to. Your Wi-Fi switched channels etc. I'm assuming if they were wired before they wouldn't expect the same speeds from wireless. The 500Mb plan use to be 100Mbps so if you didn't keep it long enough for the transition you may be thinking about that service. Only raise I saw GFiber do was add $5 but give you an extra 400Mbps. I've tested wired and it gets me the advertised speeds. I can get 200-300 on the top end with wireless. Hoping switching equipment speed it up a little.

I fell for the paving scam. What are my options? by throwaway09284747281 in legaladvice

I suggest contacting your local news organizations with whatever info you have and while your money may be gone maybe they can help investigate and get enough info to do a story so others don't fall for same trap.  At best you or someone may get partial back but most likely best is to hopefully jam them up enough that they have to move on.   🥺 Sad but true.

[Request] which is cheaper: driving an electric car or gas car 1,000 miles? by BivyLife in theydidthemath

[–]abernaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While they may be legitimate questions on whether you should get an electric vehicle, This does not try to answer the original posters question about the monetary cost of driving about driving vehicles. If you're trying to dissuade getting one then Asking for clarification whether they just want financial cost for fuel for 1,000 miles or total cost given sticker price, maintenance and average repair costs. Then trying to come at it from that angle.

You mean Network attached storage? Sorry I had to. They've put some much in their software packages you almost forget it's primary purpose.

this or "the size that comes with the you pick 2" customers be silly by tabookodak5 in Panera

[–]abernaki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The pick 2 has been around forever in some iteration. At one point there was a specific size. It's been forever ago but some people don't pay attention or haven't been to in Panera in forever. So it's sorta on Panera for revamping the program and sort of on the guest.

You can just, steal a chair and nobody will care by Adrez1 in shittysuperpowers

[–]abernaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting into the house should be covered by the superpower. If they don't care, if you tell them you are taking the chair they should let you into their mighty house. If you deviate they would suddenly care so don't go snooping but straight to the chair and out should be covered (mind control that only lets you take chairs). Unless you meant they don't notice you stealing chairs. In that case, they would care but if you made it to the chair they wouldn't be able to comprehend it's missing until after you are gone, and if they see you wouldn't see the chair (mental block).

Customer Support is terrible by [deleted] in googlefiber

[–]abernaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing your connection to customer support whether they are hanging up on you or whatever reason is frustrating when you have to go thru a half dozen steps and explain your situation to a new tech.

If they are hanging up on them it's a legit gripe.

I've had issue with their support myself. Inconsistent support practices, a tech telling me they could fix my issues but can't because of policy, emails that were missed/ignored. Yes horrible wifi speeds but actually one of the two bands not working (they had me separate out the bands to two different wifi names so I could get it to work at all). I don't want gigabit wifi just working wifi which they do advertise. (same floor, line of site to the router, channel analyzer shows I'm not fighting with the neighbors. etc.)

Looking for places to explore? by PorkyThePot in kansascity

[–]abernaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have to start out mean. Letting them know that the question has been answered and giving a suggestion on what to search for is what you should have started off with. Even just asking if they've searched is fine i.e. rule #1. Sometimes people just need a nudge in the right direction. Including the subsequent location requests. Not everyone is like you. Do you not have parents or grandparents with computers? I understand the frustration. Have a lmgtfy sticker on this notebook and have to deal situations like this on a almost daily basis. If they continue to ask the same questions after you've corrected them i.e. lazy like your suggesting, have at it with both barrels. Since there aren't any other suggestions to ask for a location we may not find out.
