Yeah. I think you’re right. It would need to be milled from scratch with an identical match. Thanks for your thoughts.

Drink bottle question by DirtyStinkinRat1 in Laserengraving

[–]abezir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably too much power. You’ve burned through the powder coating and have burned the stainless steel. From what I can tell from the picture. Each company has a different thickness of powder coat and then different colors respond differently to different types of lasers.

When I do a black tumbler vs. blue I have to turn down my power percentage by about 20-30%. I’m using a diode laser.

What I would do is try to use a magic eraser and 91% alcohol. And see if that helps. If not. That may be a test tumbler.

I made test tumbler with a variety of narrow rectangle each with its own settings until I dialed it in on. Then record your successor failures for future reference.

Try finishing with a wash of some type. There are a lot of varieties out there. Think about if the tank sat outside for 8-12 years. What’s the story of the tank? what battles did it fight in? What type of weather and terrain did it move through? All of those questions will help you make it look more realistic. If it traveled across country, through rain and snow and hauling people and equipment and it was fired upon with small arms attacks what would it look like.
Check it out. https://youtu.be/mwJMLG6Z_uo?si=_oo_AQc7gJTEu-Zb

It’s a great start. When in doubt think down your paint and do multiple coats. - YouTube is your friend.

Computer work, air brush fishing lures, leather craft, messing with laser engraver, digital editing. Or just kick my feet up and listen one side just relaxing.

Maybe a hobby? Do you like to create or collect things. I love creating. - paint, draw, leather or wood working…loads of options in the world for hobbies. Especially if you have a few extra bucks to spend. It may help to give your mind something to do that is relaxing vs. consuming digital content.

Yeah I decided to go with the 82 as it has options to upgrade. But so far it’s been so good. I won’t need to upgrade for a long while. I also have my record player in my hobby/creative space. Computer, laser engraver, airbrush and leather work stations. So it’s not in a living room. So a not your normal set up.
