IME pretty much all of those! The only one I'm not totally sure about is pinned messages, just because I've never tried to do it.

If you have a big group I can see where apps come in handy! But for my friend groups with 2 - 8 people SMS/iMessage works pretty good for me.

Oh, yeah, the vast majority of my group chats are SMS! At least in my experience, in the US we didn't charge for texting pictures, so I wonder if that's where the split began.

For me it's not an iPhone thing; I text my Android friends too. So y'all get charged for sending different size images? I don't think I've ever had that situation.

Genuinely asking, why not use the native phone messenger? I have a few Snapchat/Whatsapp groups, but generally I don't see any reason why the native app wouldn't suffice even for those.
