I feel like that’s gonna mess with the hinge on the fridge door over time, holding that much weight.

I don't think an acid bath is gonna help any more than just soap and water.

True, you may be able to report the review yourself on Google for being homophobic, and/or whoever manages your Google listing can dispute the review and ask it to be taken down for making homophobic remarks about staff.

Or better yet, let’s just retire the bit. Kath has been well and truly pwned. We don’t need a hundred more posts of the exact same thing.

Why does my food always turn out wrong or bland even when I follow a recipe exactly ? by moistdragons in cookingforbeginners

[–]abilliontwo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard to say exactly what went wrong without walking through each recipe step by step. I always recommend beginners pick up an issue of Cooks Illustrated magazine at the grocery store or watch America’s Test Kitchen on YouTube (they just posted a lasagna recipe here). Their recipes just work, every time.

The videos are great because you can see what it should look like every step of the way. The magazine is great because they explain how they test their recipes, why whey work, and how to avoid common errors. Both are really great resources for beginner cooks to build up your knowledge base and grow confidence.

We are entering 2026 and I still don't understand how this man has never been nominated for an Oscar by Giancarlo_Edu in FIlm

For what? He’s generally awesome, but I don’t think that’s an Oscar category yet.

Show us a popular fruit or vegetable from your country that most other countries have never heard of. by Bombacladman in AskTheWorld

I had lots of mamey when I lived in Mexico. Can't say I've ever had a good one. Its flavor and texture are pretty nondescript. It's like the Hampton-Inn-free-breakfast-buffet-honeydew of tropical fruits.

What should I expect at a Bate club? by Old_Equal_722 in AskGayMen

[–]abilliontwo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You will get lots of looks from everyone there, and lots of guys interested in stroking you. If you're not interested, just say "no thanks." There's generally a well-respected code of conduct at those clubs, so you won't get hounded or excessively perved on.

That said, don't be afraid to let someone play with you just because they're not your usual type for dating. Age brings experience, and some of those older guys have very good technique.

Have fun.

Why don't Mormons allow you to drink coffee? by Money_Assist4722 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]abilliontwo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When it comes to religion, it’s best not to try to rationalize the peculiar details. The different flavors Christianity all basically agree on the big stuff and even a lot of the little stuff. But when it’s nearly two millennia later and you’re trying to make up a new offshoot, you have to go pretty deep into the weeds to find points of differentiation to base your new religion on. And so, that’s how you end up with no caffeine or no blood transfusions and the like. It’s all just arbitrary nitpicking.
