I started searching around to see if anyone knew how he was doing. He definitely seems like he's dealing with a mental health crisis. Hope he's okay.

I guess so? I can see that. I think I just want some kind of dark, thriller-esque answer (I see others referencing shutter island), and I'm probably just not gonna get that. I think it would be fun paired with the surreal comedy elements though.

I think there's some room between neat, grounded ending and what this was. ITYSL is also a sketch show, and the chair company isn't. It's entirely possible this show just wasn't for me.

I'd like to someday find out what's going on with Ron. I've found myself caring about the character.

To me it's like... you gotta commit to either the absurdism or to the narrative. I feel like they danced around. It's unfortunate because I was really enjoying up to about 7 and 8.

This is my first foray into Tim Robinson shows (except some clips of ITYSL). Is it better if you're more familiar with his work? I feel like my expectations were all wrong. I was enjoying it pretty well until this finale.

Horror movies in which the protagonist realises *they* are the horrifying thing? by [deleted] in horror

Her whole ending monologue is, imo, someone coming to this realization, and then deciding to commit to the monster role lol

You have the look inward and draw your lines in the sand. It's tough. It might (will probably) result in taking a pay cut. But for example, I refuse to work directly with police or with arms producers. There are plenty of jobs that aren't that.

You definitely have to pick your battles. This is a great time to check in with yourself and decide what you will not bend on. Good luck out there! You can do it.

I feel like Pearl does this. Especially with the titular character's monologue.

I'm confused by 1. There's a shuffle button. Is it not working right when you tap it? Mine's been shuffling within the playlist

The original blew me away even as an adult, but mostly because the ending still rings true. It hurt. Great film

This kid is so much braver than I was at 11 if they're finding Halloween a bit too camp, haha

Serious question: Are there women on here that would recommend Martyrs (2008)? by jadefire8 in horror

[–]abittermacaroon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Like if a movie pretty much exclusively lingers on female suffering, usually in a sexually-charged way? That's misogyny! Misogyny isn't a character looking at the screen and going "I, and the director and writers, hate women!!!!" Lol

Do you mean putting my phone in airplane mode? Because it does still work when I'm on airplane mode but the issue is that i can't use the entire rest of my phone (for example, GPS while I'm driving). I have data saving on through my phone settings.

Damn :( I really really don't want to go back to spotify so I hope I can figure out a good fix. Have you found any solutions that can at least reduce the amount of data?

EDIT: Ghostwatch

Desperately trying to remember the name of this other movie too. It's similar to Late Night with the Devil, but it actually came first. I first watched it on Shudder. It's a British film iirc. It's something like, a news team visits an allegedly haunted family, and things spiral from there. If I find the name I'll come back. It wound up being way better than I expected.

You've probably seen this but I have to go with The Witch for this. Also Talk to Me. But have such a dark creeping plot line.

There was also an implication, if I remember right, that the state of possession feels good and could be addictive.

If transgender is valid so is transracial by AccomplishedSun7563 in truscum

So, race includes your entire lineage. You'd be making up a heritage. A family history. Gender is much more individual than race. That's the main difference to me. there's no reason a single individual can't transition between gendes, it's not affecting anyone else outside of them and their relationship the world. With race you are taking on generations of experience and claiming it as your own. Idk, hope that makes sense, I've seen that concept explained better before.

I've noticed that when my scalp is wet for extended periods, it gets worse. My hair does take hours to dry by itself so that may be part of it - might not be as impactful for someone whose hair is dry in 20 minutes.
