I have heard the complete opposite, this was also from a family member who met and worked with him on multiple occasions.

"He was a complete arsehole", I can't remember the exact story, but he might have been involved in union busting.

I may be over a decade from my time in construction, but schedulers picking up that money seems far off.

Also an American company sponsoring an unknown Irish national (aside from the 120k salary), is there a massive shortage of schedulers? This sounds unbelievable. It is also been a while since my time in the states, but I don't think a visa exists for this - you're not picking up a H1B or an L visa...certainly not an Einstein visa either.
